I think that while this is a very sweet idea...it will be virtually impossible unless you have access to a database of products that were originally made in 1958. (Google didn't have much info on this) It might be more likely to find things that were from the 50's...but a specific year is going to be really hard to do. If you don't have a problem spending money, then you might be able to find antiques from that year...but again, this will be tricky. How about finding one of their wedding photos and having it enlarged and framed in a really nice frame? Or doing a nice scrapbook of your entire family for them? Or maybe doing a nice family tree...I can't find it online anymore, but Martha Stewart used to have a really cool family tree that was small strips of paper with each persons name on it, each piece was glued in the shape of an actual tree on a nice piece of dark paper, then framed. I've listed some other projects below.Things from that year may not have much nostalgia...but family will. Good luck!

Seen at Cracker Barrel . . . boxes of candy from various decades. 50's, 60's, etc. Types of candy one never sees around any more. I found that interesting. (o:

Well I was born in 1978 so I dont know! But if I were you, I would head to the library and look at their magazines from that year. There should be tons of info about stars, current events, foods and products (in advertisements), and fashion in the magazines. Thats where I would start.

Why not check out some local collector stores and find things like coins, newspapers and magazines, books that were published that year, etc. that would have 1958 written on it? You might also be able to find a book that covers the important events of that year to add to your basket.... I would really look for published materials because if your grandparents are like my family members, they'll want something that records the specific details of events (... I'm sure you've heard the grandparents go back and forth over what year a TV show went off the air or what year a car was introduced, etc....)

Penny candy. Mary Janes, squirrel zippers, Tootsie rolls, bit o honey, sugar daddies, and the such. Also add some soft drinks in the bottles. Coke still puts out the small bottles and Pepsi has some retro bottles.

Check eBay for "vintage 1958" and you will come up with lots. (9 pages) If your mom or dad like model cars, you can probably find a collectible car from that year from Franklin Mint or somewhere. Congratulations to your parents on a milestone anniversary!
