BEFORE YOU READ THIS, PLEASE DO NOT ANSWER “WHAT IF YOU GET A DIVORCE”!!! If you do, I will not read your answer and will just give you a thumbs down. That is not what I am looking for in this question. I asked this question yesterday and got very few real answers and just a bunch of people saying what if you get divorced. That said, here is my situation…My fiancée works with metal and power tools. His company does not allow any kind of jewelry to be worn because it is very dangerous. In his exact words (this is from an email he sent me the other day) he said “I wish that I could wear a wedding ring all the time at work and anywhere I go to show my love and commitment for you.” Because of this, we are we are thinking of getting a tattoo wedding ring on his ring finger. We are willing to pay whatever it costs to get the best ink and the best artist. Money is not an option for this. My fiancée and I are childhood sweethearts and I know what he is like, he would loose a ring very ququickly if he took it off for work and put it back on when he got off work. He’s one of those guys that loose keys all the time. He lost his high school ring, he ended up buying three or four purity rings because he lost those too. Wearing the ring on a necklace or watch will not work because he can’t wear those to work. No jewelry on men or women is allowed. This is not a question of there being women at work or being worried about him cheating or getting hit on. For special occasions, we are going to buy an expensive silver band that will match my ring that he can wear at the wedding and for any other time he wants to wear a ring. I need to know information about well tattoo wedding rings look, ideas for design, and advice about any medical complications. He has severe asthma and airborne allergies if that effects anything. Neither one of us have ever had a tattoo before and he doesn’t plan on getting other tattoos. I’m not getting one myself. Has anybody gotten one or knowsomeone who has? Once again, divorce is not an option for us.

I think that this is a great idea... I've never heard of anyone doing this before but I can completely understand the reasoning behind it! Depending on your location is the problem with finding a great tattoo artist. You may try to google tattoo artist near you...most of them have websites now so that you can see their artwork and people's comments... Good luck!

My husband and I both have wedding band tattoo's. I think its a great idea. My husband is in the military and with his MOS sometimes he cannot wear his wedding band, although he has one and does wear it majority of the time, he also has a tattooed wedding band. I love having mine also, becauae after giving birth to our daughter i developed a sever allergy to nickle and my wedding set contained nickle, in having the tattoo, and not being able to afford a new wedding set right away, it still let people know i was married and i was still able to carry around that commitment to my husband and our marriage. I hate it when people say.. oh what if you get a divorce?!!! We got alot of that also, I just told them.... look at it this way, if something happens with us it will still be a symbol of something special and wonderful that was once in our lives and a great time shared between two people. Tattoos arent bad luck for marriages and relationships that is just a big hoax, its the PEOPLE in the relationship not the ink on the skin.... such a lame cliche. Id say go for it all the way!! The best place also i could tell you to get a tattoo if you want to fly is to go to LA and go to high voltage tattoo. They are some of the best in the US that I have ever seen.I have four tattoos so far, one on the whole top of my foot, between my sholder blades, wedding band and one on my wrist and even with my allery to nickle i have never had any problems with any of my tattoos at all. As long as you keep them clean and use A&D ointment he should have no problems with it, ive never heard of anyone with asthma having problems from a tattoo. My husband also has 6 tattoos and he has never had any problems with any of his either. Good luck to you!!! If you need anymore help let me know. yeagerswife122805

I'm 48 and I have 26 tattoos and I'm getting more.I LOVE your idea. If it were me, I'd get one with him-if you don't want a ring, how about a matching bracelet or ankle bracelet? You can make this so personal-just you two will have these "rings".You could google or check your local yellow pages for a tattoo shop. DON'T go to someone's house or garage- make sure it is a "real" business. Check out the portfolios of the artist. Most the time they have what they call "flash"(pictures of tattoos) in the shop for you to choose from- or have the artists design something just for you. The most important thing is to make sure EVERYTHING is clean- they MUST use new needles for you- if they don't open a new package for you-run away!Take your time and have fun choosing something. It's a good idea to go talk to the artist before you get any work done. A good artist will be happy to help you decide on something.Be sure to take care of the tattoo afterwords they way they tell you. Listen just like it's your doctor talking to you.ENJOY it |

I like the idea, however I have heard that sometimes skin on fingers streches odd as aging occurs. I would ask a good artist this! Congrats on your big day!

Great idea - go for it. I'd go to local tattoo shops and shop around and get their feedback straight from the professionals. My fiance also wants to get a ring tattoo. He will be getting an actual wedding ring, and can wear one, but he wants something "permanent" as well, which I think is cool. I was thinking about getting something as well, done under my wedding bank. I was think about getting our wedding date tattooed, with our names or initials. Best of luck!
