My girlfriend and I recently became engaged, and we've decided we'd like to get married next September. Now we're trying to still decide on whether to have a big wedding/reception, or just a small ceremony with a big reception. Either way we have decided on one thing...we want a rock and roll wedding...I'm not talking a 50s or "Traditional" rock wedding...we're talking modern metal/ punk/ hardcore/ whatever rock wedding. We're trying to come up with non-cheesy ways to express this theme a little bit better. So far all we really have is that my band, and a few other bands will play at the reception...and we have a few ideas as far as mixing formal attire with casual punk/metal looks.Overall though, we are just looking for any good suggestions. Any takers?

Look up rock version of Pachelbel's Canon. If you have LimeWire or anythign like that, search "canon rock." Hope that helps. Good luck to you and your girlfriend, and rock on.

I'm thinking more along the lines of clever decorations and colors. Choose colors like black and red, of course. There are roses that are called 'black magic' or "black baraca' that are very deep red with black edges - very rock. Use guitars and equipment (amps, mics) to decorate the reception hall. Stamp your invitations with a skull and cross bones, or other rock inspired logo. Use black or red candles on the tables. Include in your invitation an "admit one" ticket - like it's a ticket to a killer show. For your programs for the ceremony print them like a show poster - and list yourselves as the headlining act. That's all I can come up with for now. Sounds like your wedding will be a good time.

Where and How to Start?
There’s so much to do, it can be mind-numbing. Don’t worry. I planned and held my first wedding in two months and my second wedding in three months. If you have the luxury of a year or more, feel lucky!
Wedding Invitation
Ideally, invitations should be mailed out 6-8 weeks before the big day to give guests time to make arrangements to attend and RSVP back to you.
Wedding Attire
Where I come from, buying a tuxedo is virtually unheard of. Renting is probably the way to go to realize the ultimate savings on the groom’s attire.
Wedding Flowers
Cheap doesn't mean that your wedding flowers can't be beautiful. All flowers are lovely no matter what they cost.
Wedding Ceremony Decoration
Most wedding ceremonies are short and sweet, so why spend a majority...
Wedding Music
Music for your wedding ceremony could consist of live or recorded performances.
Wedding Photography
Pictures are priceless, and you want to be sure you have plenty of good pictures of your special day.
Wedding Favors
Some brides don’t like the idea of giving gifts to her guests, but we think it’s a nice gesture as a thank you...
Wedding Food
Wedding food can take a huge chunk out of your wedding budget.
Wedding Cake
Your wedding cake is the centerpiece of the reception. It is a scrumptious dessert as well as part of a tradition
Wedding Party
The question of whether or not to serve alcohol at your wedding is one that can cause dissension in the ranks of family.
