I'm pretty sure it is for any unengaged/unmarried women. Whoever catches the bouquet is supposed to be the next to get married. Many single women do not like partaking in this event though.

It's for any woman who is not yet married, women with boyfriends can participate in catching the bouquet. Tossing of the bridal bouquet is a custom which has its roots in England. It was believed that the bride could pass along good fortune to others. In order to obtain this fortune, spectators would try to tear away pieces of the bride's clothing and flowers. In an attempt to get away, the bride would toss her bouquet into the crowd. Tradition says that the single women who catches the bouquet is the one who receives the bride's fortune and will marry next.

The ladies that should gather for your bouquet toss should be all the single woman, meaning they are not married. Even if they have a boyfriend they should still partake in this tradition. The symbolism being that the lady who catches the bouquet will be the next to get married.Hope that helps!

It is for any female that is not yet married but do have bf's or who are single. Just for unmarried women to all stand together to see who can catch it and be the next one married.

Ugh. Little girls. Single women hate it. I spared my friends the humiliation and skipped the bouquet toss at my wedding. They were all thankful.
