| People say I am, but these people are friends and family. I'm 13 and I would like to go professional or maybe shoot wedding or something soon. Please hoestly tell me, www.flickr.com/photos/annica003 oh, and if there are any tips so i can improve please include those. |

yes you are pretty good. i love the baboon one. it is pretty sick  my advice is to keep practicing. you should also try sending some pics to mag. editors. good luck! |

| Keep taking photos and do research by looking at some great works by famous photographers- Ansel Adams, Bill Owens, Diane Arbus and more. National Geographic is also good. Arty fashion photos are the rage right now in galleries.You also need to take classes in photography. Wedding photography is not easy---you have the wedding party and all their expectations and your equipment. That is a very tough career and you have to have a portfolio of other wedding pics to show them. It seems you like to photograph animals---keep doing that subject matter but learn much more about photography first I know many photographers that are artists and some are famous, but if they make any money from their work they have gottten older than 50.Find a cool class and take it--maybe after school or in the summer. Also ask a local photographer if he or she can mentor you for a week or so. Good luck. |

| You have a very nice Flickr portfolio. Some very good shots, and some that are more snap-shotty, but overall very good for your age. (Or any age, really) Also you are well-traveled for a young person and your images will help you remember these events in future years. Congratulations!It is one thing to shoot animals in captivity and scenery, and a whole differnt thing to shoot weddings as the primary photographer. For one thing, I can't imagine a couple hiring a young teenager to photograph their wedding, no matter how talented you are. For another, you need a portfolio in order to approach people with the idea. While your images of zoo animals and travel are fine for what they are, they contain few people pictures, and none that are done under difficult lighting conditions. If I were you, I would take my camera to any social events you are invited to. Take all the shots you want (but stay out of the official photographer's way) Visit the websites of professional wedding photographers and really study the images, both for style and composition. Look at many different photographers to see what is current in wedding photography, because those trends change as time passes. Ask your friends and family to model. Practice posing people and shooting under different lighting situations. Learn how to use a flash. Take some local classes if possible. Learn from books and on-line. In a couple of years you will have more people images. Gather them in a portfolio and get in touch with some wedding photographers. Ask if you can assist at some weddings, to carry or guard equipment, move lights, hold external flashes or whatever they might need as an assistant. (Offer to do it for free, if they offer you a little pay that is great, too.) That is one way to get a foot in the wedding photography door. Another is to major in photography in college, which is a few years away for you. Best wishes to you as you keep shooting and learning. |
