Would you care to share your recipes? and include a picture of your cake.Thanksok I guess I should clarify I make cakes all the time. I have everything I need to make my own wedding cake, etc..I just wanted to try different recipes and see different wedding creations that have been created at home and not from a bakery.sorry I guess I should have added this from the beginning.THANKSkckli: hey thanks for sharing your picture I hope you don't mind but I looked through all your wedding pictures. You had a very lovely wedding. Congratulations!!

No, but we did have an atypical cake- we went with Dairy Queen. Three round for the picture (the cake stand was decorated with flowers until it was cake time) and seven sheet cakes to be served. It was awesome. here's the cake page from our album:http://web.mac.com/kokorophotography/Kokoro_Photography/Kristin_and_Eric.html#28I'm laughing because it was ice cream cake and well, it was frozen and really hard to cut!

I made our wedding "cakes". All individual heart shaped chocolate truffle cakes.Chocolate Genoise sponge: 3oz Caster Sugar 1oz coco powder 2oz Plain Flour 3 EggsThis was the base recipe, I think I I multiplied it by 3 or 4. I made a little Captain Morgan's spiced rum syrup to drizzle on each base before the ganache mixture went on.For the topping I used chocolate couverture (Barry Callebaut's) and heavy cream in equal quantities. Basic recipe is 16 ounces chocolate & 16 floz heavy creamMelt the chocolate cool slightly, Whip the cream till it leaves a trail then add the chocolate. It worked out about an ounce of chocolate and a fluid oz of cream per cake.
