My bf just returned from being away on business for the past month. I think he realized how much he missed me, because he proposed this past weekend! So now we're engaged... and I just want to enjoy it for a bit, but I've always wanted to get married in May. Our wedding will be very small - immediate family only (4 on each side) plus my 2 friends, his 2 friends and their spouses. Since it's not a big wedding, I don't want to wait 15 months to get married in May 09. We want to do it this year.We originally thought of doing a destination wedding but my best friend is so afraid of flying that she wouldn't go. So that's out! We know exactly where we want to get married here, so that's okay. If we booked the place now, is it even realistic to have everything planned by May? The place we want will do the flowers, food and cake. I just need to find a photographer, dress and someone to marry us.Is this even possible to do in 3 months? I really don't want to wait. Thanks!

Yes! Anything is possible with the right funding and planning techniques. If you book now and immediately start to arrange food/flowers/etc you'll be fine!Admittedly, you may not get EXACTLY what you want... for example, your first choice of caterer would already be booked or something, but in general, it should go to plan!Congratulations! Have a great wedding!

It is possible!Start looking for a photographer and someone to marry you asap. As for your dress, you are better off going to stores that sell dresses off the rack, as ones that have to be ordered usually take about six months to come in.Good luck and congrats!

Totally! My friend got married in 3 1/2 and it worked fine.I didnt feel stressed at all! She had five on each side and 150 people at the wedding and reception! Just dont stop planning and getting things together. You just dont have time to waste. But its TOTALLY possible! Also get your wedding dress very very very soon ( like within the week) because it takes awhile to come in!Same with your bridesmaids and flowergirl. My wedding is in june and i had to order everything byearly march. They come in about a month before the wedding (hopefully) so if the girls needed them sized and mine too!So get that done!!!Good luck!

it is possible but your giong to be busy. i've seen little weddings like this where they get a little space, some hotels have them, and have the ceremony and dinner in the same room. if your not going to have dancing then you could do it like a dinner party but with a ceremony at the begining

Its possible but a lot of work. I got engaged in dec and am getting married in June, even with that much time it has still been hectic getting everything ready and we are having a small wedding too. Did you call the place to see if they have an opening? Many jps, photographers, and halls are booked months in advance. you better start making lots of calls. Good luck!!! and congrats!

Yes it's doable. You can't be picky on your dress and you have to buy one off the rack that fits or can be altered. There's not time to order dresses. Then I would make some quick calls to some photographers to see if you can find one available on that day. Again you may not get the one you really want and may not be able to be super picky. Once a photographer is booked, book the place or book the place first if it's available and if you can't find a photographer be happy with pictures that your family takes. The officiant is the easiest of the three. You can get anyone to marry you, friend, etc. All they have to do is go to the state and get a one day license for the date of your wedding. You can also call churches and see if a minister is one available and two if they will marry you. I know the Catholic Church doesn't recognize a marriage unless it's in the actual building. Ours doesn't care. If you are legally married in the state, you are legally married. It can be done but I would start NOW! Good luck!!

Hi and congratulations!YES, this is totally doable, especially with a small wedding!First thing is to get the place booked! Wow...get that place quickly....I have never heard of a place that does the flowers and the cake also (it's usually just the food.)Again, very doable. Once the place is booked, that takes care of 4 big things (venue, food, cake and flowers.)The next thing (even before the dress) would be to get a photographer and wedding officiant. Then go on to your dress. Will you be having a maid/matron of honor? Perhaps the two of you can look for dresses together.Good luck It sounds nice. I absolutely LOVE small weddings!

Don't be deterred by people who say that it takes a year or more to plan a wedding. It's most definitely possible to plan one in 3 months--especially since you want something small. They key to planning with a short time frame is to be organized and to delegate. Knowing what you want is key and being flexible. *Start looking for vendors and planning ASAP. If you're going to look at vendors, narrow down the ones you want and book several appointments in one day so as to not waste time. *Don't micromanage--ask for help and take it.*Go dress shopping as soon as you can. Many (if not most) will let you buy a dress off the rack and may even give you a discount for doing so.Since you're planning a wedding that is 3 months away, negotiate ALL your prices because vendors want to book and because it's last minute, they should provide you with some kind of discount.Good luck and congrats!
