I started bleeding on friday so had a scan on monday, they couldnt find a heartbeat and baby measured 5-6 weeks (i should be 10) they thought i was having a missed miscarriage so they told me to come back in a week i went back wed cos i was a bit sore and the dr had a look at me and whispered to the nurse that my cervix is closed. is this possible? i still have to wait till monday and i am trying not to build my hopes up.the reason ive not had a D&C is because they have convinced themselves i have my dates wrong,im pretty sure i dont. they are leaving it a week to see if there is growth incase im wrong

Yes. You can have a miscarriage even though your cervix is closed. Unfortunately, all you can do is wait and see. I can't imagine how hard it is. My heart goes out to you. You'll be in my prayers. Good luck with everything.

Yes you can miscarry in that condition. You really should schedule a D&E (I'm surprised they didn't give you that option). Miscarrying naturally is worse pain than labor, and it can be longer.

Some problems that result from having the scar tissue on the cervical area are that the tissue does not stretch and dialate. Complications that will interfere with pregnancy and delivery. A closed cervix or stenotic cervix, may result from trauma or scar tissue from surgical procedures such as a leep procedure attempting to treat the condyloma virus (HPV).
