I am very intrested in Graphic Design and working with computers. Right now i am enrolled at a Tech Center, where i am in Information Management Systems, we learn how to make portfolios, word, excel, powerpoint, publisher, etc (basically all the basic stuff) and then we pick a job title which we work out of books. I choose graphic design because i am a creative person and like to design stuff on the computer. I am also intrested in photography and journalism. I would like to have my own business some day, and maybe work for a magazine company, doing layouts. did i mention i do spreads for the yearbook and have published to school newspapers, and i enjoy it. I even collect seventeen and cosmogirl..hehe. I am thinking about taking a year of college online and then transfering to Oakland Community College? Does anyone have any expierence in this field or any tips for me that i should know? Anything would be helpful.

Keep a portfolio or samples of your work. There may be some freelancing jobs on the internet right now so that you can gain more experiences with a hands on approach. Explore all different types of programs and equipment, this will broaden your skills, like some only use PC and don't know MAC. Get your own computer equipment and everything at home this also helps improvement your work ethic.
