Just curious who has been to a wedding where they had a violinist playing or a harp playing when the bride comes down the isle? I just want to know in your opinion which ones sounds better and romantic before I choose which one. Our ceremony will be outdoors on the quarry of a golf course.

I'm having a harpist for both the ceremony and the cocktail hour. I've always wanted one and none of the dozen weddings that I've attended in the past 2 years have had one.Good luck

I think you could have both, my cousin had a harpist at her outdoor wedding about ten years ago and it sounded beautiful, very elegant. she also had doves released which scared the crap out of her! haha!

Being outdoors make sure that whatever you choose is going to be loud enough. We had a string quartet in a closed garden and it was still only just loud enough. I think that if you are looking at just one violin then I would definately chose the harp instead. Maybe try a group though - either string quartet or strings with harp - you want people to be able to hear the music!
