Hello, a little over a year ago now, I purchased my wife's wedding ring. It is a white gold ring (well actually two rings modified together permanately as one) with a center diamond, two small diamonds to the left and right as well as a few accent smaller diamonds. Anyway, I wanted to know the best way to clean it because of all the hard to get to areas given the design; I have heard about toothpaste, but want some imput because I do not want to tarnish either the ring or the diamond. I have also heard that I can buy a cleaning solution, but I am not sure which solution would be suitable. Thanks in advance people!-Billy

I use a jewlery cleaner from Walmart or you can take it to jewlery store and they can clean it for you!

Hi, the jewellery shop i visited recommended using a small amount of fairy liquid (smaller than a pea size amount) on a soft bristled tooth brush and very gently, using circular motions clean the diamond, that should bring out the shine Rather then sending it off to the jewellery shop to be cleaned, this is the best method, as recommended by my local jeweller. |

I went to Walmart and got a jewelry cleaning tube. It's a red tube that has a little tooth brush looking thing in the solution. The solution is pretty goopy, but it works well for my ring. Mine has a lot of small diamonds clustered around the solitare and I was able to get the brush in there and really clean it. It was around $4. You can also take the ring to any jewelry store in the mall and they will clean it for you for free. They think they're going to get you to buy something that way, but you don't have to.

I have had my diamond and diamond band on my hand for 22 + years. I clean my diamonds with an old "soft" toothbrush and regular hand soap such as liquid dove, liquid dial, dawn dish detergent. As long as the soap doesn't have an abrasive in it there is no way it can damage the ring

DO NOT use toothpaste. It is abrasive and will over time ruin the metal finish. I use a cleaner with a toothbrush from the jeweler we purchased the ring from.

I happen to have a white gold wedding ring that is fused and sounds similar in design. when I clean mine, I use dish soap and lightly scrub it with a kid size toothbrush. If you have scratches on the metal, you will have to take it to the jeweler to have it polished, but if you just want to clean around the diamonds, dish soap does the trick. I have never heard of using toothpaste so I couldn't tell you if that works;)
