Well, my bf graduates AIT on June 7th and he says he might have some time off and wants to plan our wedding for then. The problem is my ship date for basic is June 10th and there's a 3 day waiting period for a marriage license in my state so if he got here the 8th we still couldn't get married until the 11th or 12th. Everyone thinks it's "sudden" too and my mom says I should "let myself mature more". My training is for Ground Cryptologic Linguist and I'll be in CA for practically a year or more. I know that if we aren't married we can't file joint spouse paperwork to stay near one another. I'm just afraid that once we finally do have the opportunity to get married and have a wedding I won't want to any more because I won't know who he is anymore or he'll have to deploy. Can someone help me?BTW he is training to be a Quartermaster and Chemical Equipment Repair Specialist... I think. 63J.

you can always push your ship date back . . . . at least thats what i was told by my recruiter. dont know which branch you are but i was to supposed to ship out today to MCRD in San Diego. they made a mistake and it wasnt a big deal. talk to your recruiter and see what he tells you . . . . gl & peace!

there is no waiting period for a marriage that involves a service member, just show them his id card and you could get married right after you get the license.BUT if you're worried now that you wont know who he is anymore, might be better to wait. you should have all doubts covered prior to marrige, especially a marriage where you know the two of you wont see eachother for long periods of time.
