My Grandmother passed away at the age of 57 from ovarian cancer and so did my greatgrandmother. Also a very very good friend of ours has it and i dont know where it started but I know it has spread all over his body. He is now doing chemo and his chances are very slim. You really dont know what you have until something like this happens. I hope he comes out of this okay, that was a beautiful thing your family did. May his marriage be blessed this weekend as well.

That was great of them to do.My nephew years ago, 4 years ago to be exact, was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer. He is fine now but was given little hope at the time. His parents were so strong throughout the process, taking trips with him from CT to Boston, staying up throughuot the night sometimes to care for him and dealing with many different factors. One of those factors was not knowing if their son would make it and live through this process. Well once the cancer was going away, amazingly so as it was stage 4 when found, they started being a part of an annual fund raising event called St. Baldricks. That organization funds child cancer specialists in Dana Farber and other major hospitals that specialize in cancer treatments. They also fund research into cancer treatments and preventions.I was part of St. Baldricks myself twice. Last year I had kept my balding head bald. But they now are in the top if not the top of funding dollars for their events. My nephew's father also does a charity bike run that is 20 miles long to generate donations for cancer research.Cancer is a terrible thing as well as chemotherapy but it can truly bring together a family and a community and help everyone get along better even if for just one day.I feel saddened for those that have lost loved ones to cancer and I support research causes as much as I can.

WOW! What an incredible way to show love and support! It almost makes me cry to visualize the wedding - with all of those shining heads - they will be all a-glow with halos! You better keep a box of tissue available on every row! There won't be a dry eye!!!Our local Police Dept. is on the lower level of the building I work in. One of our dispatchers went thru chemo a while back - everyone in the department shaved their heads - The officers, the other dispatchers (even 1 female dispatcher!!!) It's an awesome way to make someone who is suffering in many different ways - feel really loved and supported! That dispatcher survived. But a year or so later, the female dispatcher who had shaved her head - died with cancer herself. So SAD!!Congratulations to you and your family! Hope the wedding is a joy to everyone!

Where and How to Start?
There’s so much to do, it can be mind-numbing. Don’t worry. I planned and held my first wedding in two months and my second wedding in three months. If you have the luxury of a year or more, feel lucky!
Wedding Invitation
Ideally, invitations should be mailed out 6-8 weeks before the big day to give guests time to make arrangements to attend and RSVP back to you.
Wedding Attire
Where I come from, buying a tuxedo is virtually unheard of. Renting is probably the way to go to realize the ultimate savings on the groom’s attire.
Wedding Flowers
Cheap doesn't mean that your wedding flowers can't be beautiful. All flowers are lovely no matter what they cost.
Wedding Ceremony Decoration
Most wedding ceremonies are short and sweet, so why spend a majority...
Wedding Music
Music for your wedding ceremony could consist of live or recorded performances.
Wedding Photography
Pictures are priceless, and you want to be sure you have plenty of good pictures of your special day.
Wedding Favors
Some brides don’t like the idea of giving gifts to her guests, but we think it’s a nice gesture as a thank you...
Wedding Food
Wedding food can take a huge chunk out of your wedding budget.
Wedding Cake
Your wedding cake is the centerpiece of the reception. It is a scrumptious dessert as well as part of a tradition
Wedding Party
The question of whether or not to serve alcohol at your wedding is one that can cause dissension in the ranks of family.
