I've actually never been to a wedding that serves punch, but have had the sherbet, 7-up thing at lots of baby showers where there is typically no alcohol served. I kind of like it, in that it's not a drink I would ever bother to make myself, so it's sort of a novelty. I do prefer excellent fresh lemonade or iced-tea if I had a choice of that or punch though.
