Mostly, I think it's people trying to make conversation and being interested in me, but the constant inundation with it has gotten really old.

YES! Sometimes it pisses me off and I don't know why. I think that like you said they just want to make conversation, but there have been some that do it to make you feel miserable. I knew a girl that continued to compare her relationship with mine, even though she wasn't even engaged. I just think we get annoyed with the question because planning a marriage and wedding is stressful enough without people asking you about it everyday. I tell them when it happens they will know!

Oh man, YES. Before we got engaged, all we heard was "When are you getting engaged????" Now that we are engaged, all we hear is "When are you getting married??? What are your colors????Have you picked out a dress?????"AH! So many questions! I'm to the point now where I just roll my eyes, laugh, and say "Haven't decided yet, but when we know we'll tell you so you can alert the media."What bugs me though is when it's complete strangers who grab my hand, wanna look at the ring and ask a billion questions. It's like, hey buddy, back off.

Nah. I know it means they care which is nice. I have only encountered the stranger problem once or twice. When it happens I just 'answer my phone" or start looking at the items on the shelf in the other direction after a quick "Thank you"The only time I get irritated is when they decide to start critising me or offering their opinion, saying idiotic things like "it's investing for your memories so money should be no object" and "if you don't want kids what's the point in getting married?'When I get tired of the converstation I just say something like "I'm keeping the rest secret because I want it to be a suprise and really unique" That usually shuts them up.

If you think thats bad, wait until after you get married and everyone starts asking you when you're going to have kids! I've been married for 5 years and thats one of the first things that people ask us "when are you going to have kids??"Congrats on your wedding. I know exactly how you feel!=)

I don't mind it too much...except when they insult my ideas or response! Have you had that happen?? Someone will want to make small talk and ask about the planning and say the topic is flowers. So I tell them a little about what flowers I'm planning on using (nothing crazy, ivory roses, calla lillies and blue hydrangeas) and they give me a look like I'm sickening them and they say "Oh, what about (some other flowers they like)? Have you seen those, those are so pretty and they would be better."

No, I love it. I spend a lot of time on the wedding and I'm glad that people ask.I only hated it when we didn't have wedding plans like right after we got engaged. Not necessarily because people were asking but because I didn't have an exciting answer.

i was only annoyed when people were asking us for a date right after we got engaged, and then inviting themselves to our wedding! we actually had so many people inviting themselves that we decided to just go to vegas, me and him, and get married privately, and then come home and throw a reception. now we can tell people when we're getting married, and that is IN VEGAS, and that we're having a reception at this restaurant. we're getting a deal- $14 a person with awesome food! anyway, enough about me. so, WHAT ARE YOUR WEDDING PLANS?? HAHAHAHHA

Well, deal with it. People ARE trying to be nice, the only way they may know how. Plus, some people might believe you are super excited about your wedding. Just let them be.Say, "the wedding planning is going great. I can't wait. But, I've taken a break from planning until after the holidays. Have you finished your Christmas shopping, yet? Find any good sales?"In all honesty, people don't want to hear you go on and on about wedding. But, it's a focal point to start a conversation and go on from there. Like, don't you have friends with kids. Don't you find yourself always starting the conversation with, "Hi, how are you? How are the kids? They must be getting big?"It's called being polite. Just roll with it. Even if you don't want to talk about it....it's the polite thing to do. If you want to end the conversation nicely, ask them a question about themselves. Get them talking about something else.

I can't stand how people I haven't seen in years suddenly feel the need to ask me all about it and get caught up in it. They didn't care before so why start now? Sometimes I don't mind talking about it but I get so tired of rehashing out everything from how we met to where our honeymoon will be. I'm glad people are happy for us but why do people I barely know want to know all about it?
