| I haven't been on answers all week because I am getting ready for my wedding which is saturday. And one of the things I have to do is put together a bunch of music for it. And some of those songs have to be kinda slow, sappy love songs. So any ideas for your friendly, neighborhood atheist?I have to leave all of my good Slipknot and RATM music at home unfortunately. So I want decent wedding acceptable music that doesn't cater to religion.Thanks for everyones help.Nope no church wedding.Oh and God did not create weddings.And I do have lot's of songs to play while people are hanging around at the reception. I am just looking for a few other acceptable songs to play. |

| Well the famous Wedding March is from Lohengrin. An Opera by Wagner. Who was the inspiration for Ludwig of Bavaria and to some extent Hitler. So that's pretty safe.And the Bridal Chorus is from the Incidental Music to A Midsummer Nights Dream. Which is about fairies. So safety there too. |

| Pretty much all of the sappy love songs are secular. But the one that comes to mind is one I saw in a SNL skit where a couple was getting married and the bride's two gay dads sung "tonight I celebrate my love for you" with an uncomfortable emphasis on the line "there will be no distance between us". |

"From this Moment" by Shania Twain and... I think it's Bryan Adams (it's a duet).My cousin and I sang that song at her sister's wedding. I don't think there are any "religious" lines in it. Just a good love song.  |
