| No, I don't think it has to be a diamond. There is nothing wrong with cz, other gemstones, crystal, etc.However, I'd rather have a small diamond than a big cz. You can get diamonds and gold for $100 and up. It really IS the symbolism of the ring which is important - I hope your friend isn't reacting like that to everyone! |

| i discourage people from buying diamonds cause people (especially children) are kidnapped and forced to work in diamond mines, kids die everyday or lose limbs from the dangerous work conditions that they are forced into. Also, there is something called 'diamond wars' in africa, weapons for these crazy guerilla-warfare militants are funded by the diamond trade. People say that diamonds are "tracked" and they can tell if its a blood diamond or not (which are illegal) but in reality there is virtually no way of telling where a diamond came from, big-time companies often makeup the origin of the diamond to keep it legal. So your diamond ring may have costed someone their life! Also if you think that what kind of ring you recieve determines how much ur fiance loves/cares about you then ur an undeserving bltch anyway...Any kind of ring should be as good as any. An engagement ring is so special because of its SYMBOLIC value, not monetary."DIAMONDS ARE FOREVER" IS BULLSHIT! ... was made up by diamond companies to get ur money! |
