| no need for bridesmaids if you don't want them. it's your wedding, so do what you want. won't it be cold at the beach in October? i would suggest oranges and yellows since it's in the fall...a lot of tiki torches...that would also go well with the mexican theme...november would work too, as long as it's not too cold. |

Hi and congratulations!Do you mean that you are going to surprise your fiance with a "surprise wedding?" Hmmm.....OR...did you mean that you want to surprise him with something mexican? In any case, here are my thoughts:(1) Your idea for a beach sounds great, however.....WHERE are you thinking for a beach wedding? October and November are not at all warm here in the U.S. on a beach. I don't know about California or Texas, but I know in Florida it's not that warm.....AND....hurricane season runs through November, I believe. Are you thinking somewhere in the northeast? Again, not very warm for an outdoor event in October or November.(2) Again, I love the idea of something outdoors, but you should think of late summer or early fall (August or September). Yes, I know thats even sooner than you had thought of....but it CAN be done. Some on here have planned their wedding in 3 weeks!(3) If you do have something at a beach....I love the tent idea. Very nice. (4) Another idea....to incorporate your fiance's ethnic background, why not look into serving mexican food for the dinner? OR...have your wedding and reception in a private room of a mexican restaurant? Look around and see what is available. That would be fun.(5) You most certainly do NOT need to have bridesmaids or any attendants. All that is needed for legal purposes is for 2 people (over the age of 1 to sign the marriage certificate. These two people can be ANYONE who witnessed the marriage. If you want to have 1 attendant each....that is an option. A maid of honor and a best man. But again, it is NOT needed.(6) A small wedding (about 30) like you said, would be very nice and intimate. This can be planned very quickly if you start now. There is no reason you need to push it to late fall, unless you really want to. Perhaps the weather is nicer at that time of year where you live so that you can have your beach wedding....I don't know. For decorations, I would get some nice vases and use brightly colored roses. Very pretty! OR....if you are having something at in a restaurant (or another venue) and you want a more romantic glow....use candles of various heights with some rose petals scattered around. OR....you can use floating candles in a glass bowl.Good luck! |

| To tie in the mexican theme, take a look at these ideas:http://www.favorideas.com/wedding-themes/multicultural-themes/cinco-de-mayo-wedding/you can give out mexican wedding cakes wrapped in nice wrappers or cellophane as favors:http://www.joyofbaking.com/Mexican%20Wedding%20Cakes.htmlThe possibilities are endless for a autumn themed wedding! I love that time of year. Here are some ideas:http://site.netopia.com/americanboot/autumn/http://www.favorideas.com/wedding-themes/seasonal-themes/wedding-favor-ideas-for-fall/You can use real or fake autumn leaves to decorate tables. You can use fairytale pumpkins and gourds as centerpieces. There is so much you can do! The fall theme would go for October or November since there is Halloween and Thanksgiving that tie them together. |
