| I am kind of a shy person (and so is my fiance)..who does not like a lot of attention on them and was wondering if it would be weird not to have the father/daughter dance or mother/son dance announced. I know it is very traditional to have the cake cutting, the bouquet toss and etc. announced which i don't mind but I'm just not very keen on the idea of having 150 watch only me and my dad dance. I'm not that big on attention and I honestly don't really dance that much. So do you think it is alright to have these two dances unnanounced by the dj at the wedding or will it be a disappointment to family and friends??? |

| so you not "keen" on the idea of having 150 people watch you dance. UMM HELLO? why the heck are you having a party then? How can you have the father/daughter, mother/son dance unannounced? are people supposed to guess that's happening and just sit there and watch? |

| You can absolutely omit it from your reception if you would like. But, be sure to let your dad know beforehand. Some dads and moms really look forward to that moment. |

| in my opinion, whether they announce it or not there will still be a crowd that gathers once someone realized you and your father are dancing together. So it should be up to you about whether to announce it or not, but that probably won't take away from everyone gathering around once they catch the drift. |

| My dad is in a wheelchair and we didn't want to make a big deal of us kinda dancing together so we had the father/daughter and mom/son dance together. We picked "Unforgettable" the duet by Nat King Cole and his daughter Natalie. Another good option would have been "My Girl". Yeah everyone was looking at us but it was easier with having my husband and his mom out there with us. I omitted the bouquet toss and the garter throw. For the first dance we started by ourselves and then the band invited everyone on the dance floor to join us. It was nice to be surrounded by family and friends like that. |
