| The proper way Mr. and Mrs. James Smith(and list all the names of the children)If relatives this is also acceptableUncle Jim and Aunt JanJoshua and Jordan To avoid any confusion be specific especially if the "teens"has significant others. All adults (over legal age) should be sent their own invitation.Congrats |

| According to the Wedding Beautiful Worldwide course I took in formal invitations, the outside of the envelope is FORMAL and should only include the formal names Mr. and Mrs James Smith. It is never appropriate to include and family or and guest on the outside of the envelope. Then on the INSIDE envelope you can addres it to, John, Jane, Edward, Josie and Dawn Smith. (Etc.) or Mr and Mrs Smith and family, or Mr and Mrs Smit, Josie Smith and Edward Smith. It is best to get the names of the children invited instead of putting and family or and guest but if you have to and family or and guest is only approporiate on the inside envelope. One more note, all guests over the age of 18 should receive their own invitation even if it is being sent to the same address.Good luck! |
