Well, we are pretty set on a Carribean wedding in November of next year. I am looking into some of the main things and I am trying to figure out what my fiance should wear. I have read about linen suits and tropical wool which both sound like good options. I will be wearing a strapless ball gown type dress(no train though so I'm not dragging sand :0) ) so I don't want him to be too casual but I don't want him to melt either. Any suggestions of websites or a direction that I can start looking in. I have looked online at Mens Wearhouse but I don't see much. Has anybody rented something or does anybody have any ideas? And if I put him in off-white, will it look funny next to my very white dress in the pictures?

Okay - these might be a little harder to do and may not be fitting with the style you're going for... but I've seen instances where grooms will wear a full tuxedo... others where the whole wedding party is barefoot... he could go REALLY casual and just do the tuxedo jacket & pants without the dress-shirt (if he's got the body for it, that is) ... a friend of mine once found a pair of short-pants (similar to bermuda-length) done in a tuxedo pant style.Since you're doing a "ball gown" - he should at least be KINDA dressy... showing up in a hawaiian shirt and flip-flops would be a no-no.

My husband I live, (were born and raised) in coastal NC, so of course, our wedding was beach/family themed...I wore a blue long dress (it was my third marriage, his second) and myself and ALL attendants and attendees were barefoot...we were married on his parents private pier and dock.He (and his brother, son and my brother) all wore khaki pants, and "Hawaiian" style shirts...(all different)...Possibly, I would have your groom wear khaki's or white pants with a linen jacket (white, khaki or Carribean inspired color, like light blue, or the color of your flowers) and cotton short-sleeved shirt...remember...shoes will be your enemy on a beach....you'll be glad you encouraged everyone (including yourself) to be barefoot...(if you are getting married in the sand)...Also keep in mind the colors and cuts of pants, etc, that look good on YOUR husband-to-be...

check out this site and see the beach wedding attire for men on here. I think for a beach wedding it is awesome and appropriate and I bet your guy would much prefer these clothes over a suit.http://www.islandimporter.com/

Sounds like you're going to have a lovely tropical time! I agree that a white suit in a lightweight and breatheable material would be best. I know tuxedo shops and men's clothing stores have white or light-colored tuxedos, but the ones I've seen have been made out of the traditional material which is heavier and usually a poly blend. While it can look more formal, your hubby may indeed melt! I would wait until spring or early summer when stores come out with more seasonal pieces -- I'm sure it's a lot of heavier materials now that we're in winter, but that doesn't mean they won't have more options down the line. Since you're not getting married until November, you'll have plenty of time to look around and get alterations made. And you can look at other places like department stores -- Macys, Nordstroms, etc. have great men's clothing departments. You can piece his suit together with separates; maybe get a nice white linen shirt with some tasteful white embroidery touches on the front and an off-white or cream suit out of a summer-friendly material. You could bring a swatch of fabric from your dress, or the dress itself, and match it against suits at the store to see if they'll look good together. An off-white or cream colored suit next to a white wedding dress would look just fine since it's a beach wedding. You could have a boutonniere made for him using the same flowers you'll have in your bouquet to help tie the visual look together. If he doesn't want to get sand in his shoes, look into a nice pair of brown leather sandals.

I had a beach wedding and my husband and his groomsmen wore a light grey tux. It looked amazing with my dress and the bridesmaids dresses (white and light blue). It was actually his idea and the pictures came out amazing. Go ahead and check out my myspace page under "wedding pics."http://viewmorepics.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewAlbums&friendID=45141410

I can't stand photos with both the groom and bride in white. It's too bleached out and boring. Why doesn't he just wear a pair of black pants with a short sleeve white casual shirt or a printed shirt.
