Hey all!!We are getting married Halloween '09. We've decided on black and purple as our colors. If you knew us, you'd understand! The whole Halloween wedding suits us perfectly. Anyway....I am looking for some ideas for decorations, favors, etc...Also, what are some cute ways to ask my girls to be bridesmaids? I am totally clueless when it comes to planning weddings, so I just need some input! Thanks everyone!

We had an October wedding and we used alot of gourds and candles by the entry/guest book signing.Don't go too halloweeny but I think a little more gothy (if that makes sense?)with candlabras and perhaps little bits of gold to accent the 2 dark colours.Personally I used alot of dark reds (becasue i loved the colour) but I think alot of candles will give the ambience you are looking for.

Here's a site you should check out: http://www.offbeatbride.com.You could ask your friends to be your bridesmaids by giving them a gift like a framed picture of the two of you or a bouquet of the same flowers you will use in your wedding. Just include a little note asking them with the gift.

Yes, join OffBeat Bride! They have a whole "tribe" of brides and a sub-group just for Halloween Weddings - http://offbeatbride.ning.com/group/halloweenweddings. They'll have lots of ideas for you. Plus the Flicker photo group is full of photos of past weddings that you can browse too! As to ideas - a great site is Favor Ideas - http://www.favorideas.com/category/hot-holidays/halloween-weddings/

if I could do things my way I would have a Halloween wedding but the Fiance isn't the same way.Candy apples would make cool Halloween favours. Or crafted bags filled with fancy candies. Each table should have a carved pumpkin with either the table number carved in, the bride and grooms initials carved in, or a face. use that lit up as a centre piece. If you are worried about candles use battery powered lights.to ask your brides maids send each each of them a little trick or treat bag with candies in it and a little note inside. If you are having kids at your wedding have them dress up and give them small bags of candies to make up for missed trick or treating.Instead of a dove or butterfly release do a spider release. Because spiders eat pests and in my opinion are very cool.If this was my wedding I would go for spooky Victorian decorations. In the ceremony area decorate with lots of fall leaves and small pumpkins. of if you want to continue the colours use back and purple streamers and lots of purple flowers.

I know you said black and purple however...it IS halloween so how about for your centerpieces...Pumpkins with your names carved into them? They would also make a cute decoration for entry ways or as luminaries to the reception...And, for fun, if your guests are willing, you can make your reception a masquerade party as well...if the guests choose to dress up.Congrats and good luck!

At a wedding shower I saw this company had cute little clear hexagon boxes with candy corn in them. They tied it with a black ribbon. Very cute!
