My bf and I were talking the other night about our wedding. It's still a few years away but we had sort of an interesting idea. We thought of getting married on Halloween (one of our favorite holidays). I want to wear like a black lacey dress instead of a white one, and have the bridesmaids wear like a black and green, or black and purple. Have sort of a Halloween-type decorated reception? I think it would be really fun and different!

I am sure a Halloween wedding has been done--but I have never been to one. I am sure it would be really fun, I'd love to be invited. Who doesn't love costumes and dressing up?!?

We have thought of doing something similar, but to keep it from becoming a gore-fest and crazy costumes, make it a masquerade theme and give your guests masks as the favors. It will make it very elegant but fun.

it would be fun - lots of fun - but not so different - i've heard of a lot of people doing halloween weddings with costume party receptions but it doesn't make it any less fun!i was actually thinking about it but my fiance's birthday is on halloween and i think that might be a bit too muchgo for it and have a great time!

I have been to a couple of Halloween weddings. The best part is that all the guests come in costume. It always makes the parents mad, but they have been fun weddings.

That's awesome. I have set up thousands of weddings and have never seen a scary wedding. I'm sure it's been done before, but I haven't seen it myself. Do it! I love it.Here's some ideas:Have your flower centerpieces done in pumpkins. Pumpkins are a hearty vegetable and can hold up well even in heat for a limited amount of time, if needed.Use a hearse instead of a limo (although it's kind of morbid) it would go with your motif. Use black lighting and ask your guests to come as a themed monsters i.e. Vampire, Witch, The Munsters, cousin it, Wednesday, etc. Rent out a castle for your wedding and reception. There are some available that cater to weddings. Google: http://www.google.com/search?num=100&hl=...And best of all host a night time wedding and plan it so that it's on a full moon. I can see it now, so cool. Great Idea! There are just so many possibilities with that theme.

I've attended a few Goth weddings in S.F., and they were kind of cool. But instead of a full-on Halloween theme for the decor(pumpkin bowls in particular), you might want to try vintage candlesticks and draped fabrics, maybe gingerbread for the wedding cake(be careful, gingerbread intensifies the effects of alcohol) and crystal bowls filled with richly colored fruit. Don't forget domino masks for the bridal party and guests!I see black wedding gowns, crinolines, and veils on eBay all of the time...
