I am thinking about attending there are two days of instruction, but it is pretty pricey around $150 each day. The first day is to teach basics on the digital slr camera and the second is about software programs to enhance your photos etc. Has anyone taken these courses, are they worth the price? I am not a complete beginner, just need some additional instruction, would these benefit me?

Man, they were going to give me one for FREE, but I just couldn't fit it in! They messed up a payment to Nikon World magazine and offered me this as an apology. It was WAY overkill on their part, so maybe karma said I shouldn't go...

I went to the Kodak one so I can't comment directly on the Nikon course - the one I attended was so bad there was a rebellion by the attendees... and they never even covered calibration and profiling. So much for a digital imaging quality course. I find a lot of the stuff by imaging companies is really poor actually and nothing to do with photographers working at the cutting edge.

I have also thought of taking this class and wondered about the benefit of such a class. For me I learn so much from Dr. Sam here in answers and a few others who I consider pros along with reading photographer magazines and books. You really can learn a lot just by asking questions here in Yahoo answers. I hope you take advantage of it as I have.

I attended a one day session a number of years ago, before they had the school devoted to digital. It was very informative and enjoyable. For the one day it was $99, makes $150 for 2 days seem like a bargain, and the speakers and photographs were outstanding. I have thought about going again sometime. Oh, lunch was furnished and it was also outstanding.
