I need help finding a good wine for my wedding reception. A lot of my guests do not like champagne, so we decided to go with some sort of wine. However, most of the wines i have tasted have a strong beer like flavor to them, and i can't stand beer. I was told this is because they are a dry wine, but i don't know what that means. I am looking for something that goes with Roast Beef and Lemon Pepper Chicken. I would like for it to have somewhat of a fruity flavor to it. I would like for it to be somewhat inexpensive, but not the type that taste like a really cheap wine. Does anyone have any ideas that I could try?

Well for fruity flavors, you could go with Chardonnay, Pinot Grigio, or Riesling.

I personally love dry wines. I know its your wedding but I would offer basics. If you like sweet wines then you could do a white zinfandel. I would do that with a white wine like a pinot gris and do a simple merlot or a cabernet.

I would go with a petite Syrah, it is a strong red but has a fruit forward appeal and is a little jammy. Yummmy!!!!!also try a buttery Chardonnay. Ask your local wine merchant for a chardonnay that went through secondary melolactic fermentation. I call them the butter bombs!
