I have a load of AVI files from a wedding that I want to burn onto one DVD disc with a menu. What software can I download that lets me do this? As I am a bit of a techno-newbie, where can I find an online step by step idiots guide to doing this?

have you got sonic my dvd or roxio? they do it. or you COULD try searching up on google for a avi dvd burner, but with all of the scamms today, it's going to be hard to get what you are looking for.

I was wondering that myself. If your DVD player will play AVI files you can just burn them to a CD as a data disc and it'll read it.

You need a converter that burns the disc as well. I use DVD Creator and it does the job very well. It will cost you but I reckon it's worth it. You can get a free download but it's only good for 3 discs. Here it is;http://www.imtoo.com/dvd-creator.html

Okay, your AVI file must be in DIVX or XVID encoded format. Download first Gordian Knot (search anywhere in Google or Yahoo), and install it in your PC. Find Virtual Dub Mod in Gordian Knot. You will use it to split the Video and Audio of your AVI file. In Virtual Dub, click Streams, then click Stream Lists to view all the embeeded streams in your Video. You will see there the Audio (you should be intelligent to notice that). Click Save WAV to save the Audio as file. After saving, click Disable to disable the audio and the audio will not embeed again into the video. After that, close the Streams window. Click File then Save As to save the video. Give a file name, and choose AVI as file type. In the lower window of the Save As dialog, look for Video Type, then click the Drop Down Box, choose Direct Stream Copy, then save your work. Now you're done in splitting. Next is to convert the Video into MPEG Format and the Audio into Real WAV 48,000 something (bitrate maybe). You can find any audio converter to convert the audio. Look for TMPGEnc Software again in search engines, and this will be your Video Encoder, because DVD Format requires MPEG Encoded Videos. Usage of this software is easy and not complicated as what Virtual Dub Mod is. Then, after converting (they are again splitted to each other, your video must have M2V extension and audio as WAV extension with the required format (WAV) and bitrate, go get the DVD-lab Pro Software, this is used to mux the Video, Audio and Subtitles (.srt file if ever you have one) into DVD Format. You can also find the software easy (you can make your menu there). After that, you can compile the DVD Project, and done done done.. Very Happy
