| Interesting family you have. Next person that says run away, tell them, "it doesn't sound like you would be too upset if you didn't see us getting married, so I'll take your advice on that one!" Leave em guessing. |

| People are just rude and have no manners. The next time someone tells you to just runaway and get married, tell them, thanks for your opinion, but we really want to get married here, with all of our family being able to attend. When you get married, you can do whatever you want, but I really don't need any help planning mine, Thanks. |

| I would say "Thanks for your advice, but that's not what we want to do" and leave it at that, being politely blunt is the way to stop them, thank them for their input but then tell them straight down the line that elopement isn't the way you want to do things. |
