I have seen where the bride and groom cuts the cake, but how does that go? Do we stand there and cut 200 pcs, of cake, or does someone else do that?

Usually a third person cuts and distributes the cake.

You assign people to do that....like a little sister, or neice, or friend...someone who is close to you but isn't in the wedding party...If it is a large wedding then you should have several people doing it.

You two as a couple both hold the knife to make the first cut, then smash it in your faces or whatever, then everyone helps themselves. Or unless you've hired people for have organised a family member for it.

No you just cut your pieces and afterwards they will take it away to cut it up. If you have a large group they sometimes have sheet cakes already cut up (saves money instead of buying a GIANT cake).

no the bride and groom just cut the cake once or maybe just cut their own piece to feed each other....but then someone else takes over....either someone in the catering group or if you have just a small family thing....a family member could do it just to help out. But no, the bride and groom have other things to do!!

You guys cut a little pieces for yourselves and you serve it to one another... most brides and grooms will then smoosh it in eachothers faces for fun (but you don't have to) Then you take your cake and you sit down and the caterers or whoever bring it back to the kitchen cut the rest and serve it to the guests.Congrats and good luck!

Normally the bride and groom cut the first pieces together , hands on top of each other. Then you feed it to the other person or smash it in their faces. Then someone else comes along and cuts it. Normally the person who is over the catering.

After you do the photo op, the caterer will take the cake into the kitchen and cut it up. They will bring a plate back out for each guest. You dont need to do anything.

if you have a caterer or a hall with servers someone generally takes the cake in the back to cut up to be distributed. or it's done where the cake is displayedif you are having a more casual affiar with out a caterer or servers you can ask someone to cut it up for you. a relative or friend can help, or a few of them to make it easier. just put the plated cake on a table so people can pick up their own servings. save the leg work. here is a guide for cutting cakes so you/they have an idea how to get the most servings from your cakehttp://www.wilton.com/wedding/cakeinfo/cuttingguide.cfm

The bride and groom generally cut their own pieces; often they will also remove and set aside the top layer to save for the first anniversary. In many cases they will also cut pieces for the wedding party; but leave the rest for the service staff to do. Obviously they're supposed to cut their own (first) ceremonial pieces.I've been to at least one event where the bride & groom made a point of doing all the cake cutting; but it was a fairly small shindig (less than 50 people). The bottom line is - if it's your wedding, do it the way you want.
