I found these small fake bouquet of roses for $8.00 a piece plus these small goldfish bowl vases for a $1.00 a piece , for them to go in. For 15 table's. Is that a pretty good price? What would it cost for real roses? Do you think fake flowers are lame? And my favors for the table are river stones with the word love on them, and we're gonna stamp our name and date on the other side. About $2.00 a stone, 150 stones. Is this reasonable cost for a wedding favor?

Personally, I think wedding favors are a complete waste of money. They'll be tossed in the trash eventually. But your centerpiece idea sounds great. Don't waste money on real flowers - the artificial flowers will be beautiful.

You should price around for real flowers instead of fake. It depends on the time of year for real ones. I doubt for 8 dollars for a whole bouquet the flowers look very real. But if that is what you want go for it I guess.

i think your prices are resonable... id go for that if i had that many guests...fake flowers do sometimes look cheap but if you get ones that look as real as possible it shouldnt be a problem...but centerpieces are something everyone looks at so it should be made nice...Mel above said that favors are a waste of money... yeah sure they are if you get your guests a piece of crap as a favor...

Depending on the quality of your fake floral bouquets, it sounds like a good deal if it is indeed of good quality.I spent $35 each for our rose centerpiece arrangements, @ 32 tables. We spent $1.08 for sets of glass coasters with love printed on them, @ a quantity of 330.So based on your prices, it seems reasonable.

For the favors I would recommend something edible.....otherwise it is going to end up in the trash. For the centerpieces fake flowers are a little cheese. I would suggest using the bowls with 1-3 floating real flowers, candles, colored stones with floating candles. If you want to combine the two try www.wanderfuls.com It is a way to combine the favor and centerpiece into one item and one price.

its about 70 -120 per centerpiece, but if you make it byyourself it could be like n ot more than 250 for the 15 bases and another 200 for the flowers

I think the stones are great! As for the flowers, ehhh. It's hard to say. A lot depends on the quality of the artificial flower. I was originally going to do the same thing and use artificial orchids. I actually spent a lot on them to make sure they were almost undetectable as fakes but of course people can tell. Now we're going with real flowers and the difference is pretty big. The real flowers are just stunning! Problem, is they really are expensive. Ours are going to be fuchsia orchids with orange dahlias, some stargazers and greenery and they are $40 per table which is LOW! I just got a bitchen florist. Flowers for our table are $60 I think. My advice would be to go with the real flowers. It just adds something special. I would rather see ONE rose in a bud vase then see a huge bunch of the artificial ones. You can totally afford the real ones if you keep it simple. Nothing says the centerpieces have to be huge with tons of flowers. There are some incredible designs that utilize one flower only.http://weddings.theknot.com/ODB/themes/realweddings/detailview.aspx?id=26286&type=3&wedding_details=Centerpieces&pageIndex=1Or how about something like this: except with rose petals scattered instead of full stems . . .http://weddings.theknot.com/ODB/themes/realweddings/detailview.aspx?id=24579&type=3&wedding_details=Centerpieces&pageIndex=3You could also just float a ton of petals inside a vase with water and a floating candle at the top.

Sounds wonderful. It all depends on your budget. So if it fits in yours and you like it then use it. Fake flowers are sometime more beautiful than real because I have seen them wilt before they have the reception started.

I personally think that favors are a waste of money. They are really nice for the person who's name is on the stone, but to most of your guests, these will probably end up going in the trash. So, you are better off saving your money for things that guests will really enjoy...like wine!As for the centerpieces I am not a fan of the fake flowers, but really most of the time the guests don't examine the centerpieces (at least at not any of the weddings I have been to). However, real ones are beautiful, so i would go down to your grocery store and price how much the roses are. You may also want to check places like growersbox.com or costco.com. They will deliver the flowers to your door at wholesale cost. It may be worth it in the end...Good luck!

I'm buying roses in bulk - 25 roses (dethorned) for under $20, and that will be enough flowers for 2 centerpieces. Bought the vases on Christmas clearance at Walmart for $2.50 each.As for your favors, to be honest, no one (other than maybe your parents and yourself) wants that. From what I've heard, people tend to like edible favors, like candy. I bought circles of tulle (available at Target, Michaels, etc.), and I'm gonna put some candy in them and wrap a ribbon around the top. 75 tulle circles for under $5, and candy, well, whatever kind you want - I'll probably buy a few bags of hershey's kisses.

If you've found a florist, I'd tell them how much you're willing to spend per centerpiece and ask what they can do for that. For my wedding, I told them I could only spend $20/centerpiece. My florist told me that I could use his vases for free (just return them after the wedding), and he's doing 8 tulips plus greenery for $20.So, I'd recommend deciding on what you're willing to spend and just asking a florist what they can provide. I went back and forth with different centerpiece ideas and decided it was totally worth $20 a table to not have to put together fake flowers or floating candles, etc.As for favors, I've been to a lot of weddings in the last few years and most people don't bother or if they do they just have a wallet size engagement picture they give out. My fiance and I have decided to give out magnets with our favorite scripture verses on them.Good luck!

Floral arrangements and favors can be pretty expensive.. However you can be creative and NOT break the bank...When I got married in Las Vegas I brought home a bunch of casino buckets that are FREE and my florist used those as "vases" for the floral arrangements.. She used real flowers and for about 16 tables my centerpieces cost $80 including delivery.... The guests RAVED and took all the centerpieces home ! NO mess to clean up or flowers to throw away... ! On the flip side my sister-in-law got married and a family member did the flowers (a professional florist) and it cost over $2000. The vases were tall and I can't remember the type of flowers they were... $2000 wasted in my opinion !So, it just depends on the budget you have and the memory... The river stones are a cute idea however $2.00 a person seems really expensive that's around $300 just for favors.... Since you are having river rocks/favors why not use Beta fish/goldfish as centerpieces and have a WINNING card under the seat at each table to see who gets to take the fish home ! Or maybe get candy that looks like "rocks" and give them out as favors.... Or buy river stones with inspirational words on them and have those as favors... I Good luck

Personally, I would ditch the idea of the fake flowers. Use the small goldfish bowls though, those are very classy. Fill them up with water and put a rose in them. You have to cut the rose so there is only a little bit of stem. The rose will look beautiful and simply elegant in the fishbowl. If you have a Fresh Market or Wal Mart around there, you can buy a dozen roses for like $8 or $9.
