My computer has a virus so I'm going to need to recover it. However, I have installed the program that comes with the CANON POWERSHOT A560. I'm worried that my camera might not work properly if I re-install the program into the computer after it is recovered. Will anything happen? Also, how do I edit pics on my computer? When I look up reviews about my digiCam, people say that it comes with great editing tools and stuff. But i can't edit!!!Is there any way to reduce the amount of battery life the camera sucks up? I have to replace the batteries almost every time I turn on the camera! Thanks 4 ur help!

You need to study the instruction book that came with your camera a bit. The software that came with the camera is very basic and really not good for much. Here is what you should really be doing...Get a decent digital editing program for your computer. Microsoft Digital Image Composer or Adobe Elements are both good entry level editing programs, and will handle most of your editing needs. Get a card reader for your computer (if it doesn't already have one) and use it to download the images from your camera. This will greatly improve your battery life since by far the biggest drain on your camera batteries is the load you put on them when downloading your images directly from your camera to your computer. If you do these two things, you won't need to even have the software that came with your camera on your computer at all. Also, when you do recover your computer and get the virus removed, buy and install a good spy sweeper / virus protection program, install it on your computer, and keep it up to date and use it regularly (Webroot AntiVirus with Spy sweeper works well and is reasonably priced. You can buy it at BestBuy and other places at a reasonable price). Hope this helps you...

Get rechargable batterys, you can turn the LCD screen off. When you download your camera, use a card reader. I don't use the software that came with my camera for editing, I use the software that came with my HP printer. I have the canon powershot A570 IS.
