Word of mouth is the best marketing that I've gotten. Most of the work I do comes from word of mouth and referrals from past clients. You could try advertising, promotions, charity work. Just about anything to get your name and number into the hands of the public. Not to be nitpicky about language and what not....but your question was asked in an odd way. Clear communication is key to successful business, period. Doesn't matter what business. Make sure that all your documents are proofed and legible before being distributed.

Make connections with your churches and pastors in your target market area. Don't forget the justice of the peace, and any DJ's, catering services, and convention/event halls that are established in your area. You need to be known in the professional circles that revolve around the wedding industry, I had a DJ who used to practically book my whole summer for me, and if a client of mine needed a DJ, I would steer them to him.Networking is key, free, and effective.G'Luck !!!

Word of mouth is huge. You'll have to pay a significant amount in advertising costs if you want to build your business quickly. As your referral base builds, you can ease off on your paid advertising a bit (although not completely, of course!).Those first few customers you get, by-golly you need to make them happy.Beyond that, my best advice is to think about how you would find and what you would be looking for in a photographer for YOUR wedding.Submit your portfolio work to impartial review from both other photographers and women in your target demographic. Sometimes your "pet" pictures may not be the best way to sell yourself, and it takes a disinterested eye to tell you this.

Don't be known as the cheapest photographer in town.
