| My wedding shower was this past Sunday. It was hosted by a few girls I work with. One of the girls offered to help with the shower but didn't say anything to the main hostess about the shower until two days before...until she found out she was having a wedding shower. Well, she moved her wedding up to over a month earlier than planned so her work wedding shower got put on the back burner. Well, she came to the shower and made cupcakes but did not give a gift. The main hostess and other hostesses generously brought food and gave me gifts! The girl who only brought cupcakes is having a lingerie shower this Tuesday and is expecting a gift from me, I'm sure. I'm very bitter about this and don't feel like I should get her anything. She has no other wedding expenses...and it is all about me. The other hostesses managed to go above and beyond just throwing my shower, even though I asked them not to. It's the principle here.Yes, she took the cupcakes with her and the main hostess didn't know she had left and offered them to my elderly grandmother. When she went to get her one...they were gone! |

| you know what, if your that upset about it.. i would do the same thing she did... bring cupcakes..you dont have to get a present... the hostess of my shower didnt get me anything, throwing the party was good enough |

| The polite thing to do would be to treat her shower like any other gift giving occasion. It's not right to sink to someone else's level- and gift giving should be from the heart. Maybe that was the best she could do- maybe she couldn't afford more than the cupcakes and the time. People often experience difficulties that we don't know about. I say take the high road and give her a nice picture frame or a gift card or something. (Or a baking set, since you know she likes to bake.) Maybe all the ingredients for making cupcakes, wrapped up in a mixing bowl... |

| In my opinion, you are not obligated to get her anything. But it would show what kind of person *you* are if you showed your appreciation of being invited. |

| Maybe with all the expense of her own wedding, she just can't afford to give you a store bought gift. Instead, she took the time to make you something homemade and something that's she sure you would enjoy (every girl loves cupcakes). I think it's very thoughtful. Better than coming empty handed.Wouldn't it have been more rude of her to have not invited you to her shower? If you hadn't beein invited to her shower, wouldn't you be on here complaining about that?You can buy a nice bottle of wine or champagne for less than $20 - $30. That would go nicely with all the lingerie, she'll be getting. |

| get her a bottle of wine ($10) and 2 wine glasses from dollar treean oversized coffee cup from dollar tree some hot cocoa and come chocolatesget her an inexspensive gift because you really dont want to get her anything at all do you? whatever you get wrap in it really nice wrapping paper and put a big bow on iti would also think about this.what if she planned on getting you a very nice wedding gift?bridal showers are for getting extra gifts anyway.dont be too greedy youre going to get more gifts later. |

| get her something at the dollar store. Or just don't go...She should have got you something better then cupcakes!! Even if she had to go to the 24 hour pharmacy! |

| Don't go. Simple as that. Maybe give her a card that day, but let her know you can't make it. If you feel you must go, and bring her a gift, Target always has some panties on sale, you should be able to get away with about 5 bucks. |

| Stop acting immature two wrongs don't make a right! I can't believe people act this way in the world! This is the reason why the world is so screwed up! Give graciously now if you said money is tight for me right now and I was wondering what to get that is inexpensive then I could help you, but show this individual that your the bigger person and give to celebrate her happiness! Trust me she will feel bad because she did not get you anything! Good luck and i hope you find it in your heart to do the right thing. |
