I received a gift certificate to a photography studio and there are NO RESTRICTIONS listed ANYWHERE on the certificate itself or the letter that I received with it. I called up the studio and they said it is only valid on wedding photography packages. Is this legal? If not, what can I do about it?I can upload pictures of the documents if necessary.http://tinyurl.com/3cml6b

Please send me a copy of it if you can. I am also a photographer, I will take a look at it and let you know what i think. It sounds like they made have made a mistake in not adding the fine print, and they may be stuck with offering it to you.Email me at info@paradiseweddings.org

It really depends on what state you live in. In California any gift certificate one "purchase" cannot have an expiration date or limitations on when the services can be rendered. However, if it is a franchise them some owners may not participate in the promotion... but then it would say something like "valid at participating locations". If there are no restrictions then I'd challenge them... even suggest that you plan on filing a fraud complaint with the Better Business Bureau
