I found a wedding dress at David's Bridal that I love. It is the one. It is style T9315. I would like to add sleeve Style CAP2 to the dress. I have been checking on Ebay and Graig's List to see if I can can find one. That that would save me some money.

i would call them and ask. if not you can take it to a seamstress in the area that your local davids or another bridal shop can refer you to. if davids does let you get it altered there they would probly charge you since you aren't the original owner and you won't have proof of purchase.

I think you should call David's Bridal, but I don't see why they wouldn't do it. Otherwise, you might find better prices at a local alterations place. But call the places and find out.

My sister bought her dress off of Ebay, and it looks JUST like it does at Davids. It is just gorgeous. And Davids keeps all records of everything purchased their so I don't think that you can bring it to to have it altered. I know that if you bring it some wheres else, they will be an even better job and charge less. If you live in Jacksonville Florida I can give you a number who does an AMAZING JOB!!!! She did my dress and it was BEAUTIFUL!!!!! But I honestly don't recommend going to Davids to have it altered. But Good luck!!!!

most dress shops will do alterations on pretty much any dress you bring in there - the hitch is that they will most likely charge you more for alterations if you didn't buy the dress there. (yes - even for a david's bridal dress being brought to davids bridal - if they don't have the record of your initial purchase then the alteration costs will go up)

I dont see why not...Really nice dress by the way....but since its "new" on DB's site, it might be a little difficult to find on ebay and such. Good luck!

most of the time they will be glad to alter the dress, but to be on the safe side, just call the shop nearest to you and ask.

whatever you do dont have it altered at davids bridal. i got my dress there, but im not paying them 100 dollars to alter it. most alterations should not be more that 30 dollars. you should find a seamstress, cleaners or another wedding dress store that would charge a more reasonable price.

Personally, I wouldn't get it altered at David's, they do good work, but tend to be a bit on the pricey side. I bought my dress from David's, but am taking it to a private seamstress to do the alterations for me.Good luck!

Ok i see a lot of people saying dont do it at davids bridal if you get the dress there. The only thing with taking it somewhere else is that if they f*** up then there is nothing you can do about it. If davids bridal does they replace the dress/can fix it because it is THEIR dress and they know how its made and everything. So if you do go somewhere else to get it altered make sure you go to a place that has HIGH recommendations. You dont want to pay all this money then your dress be messed up because they cut to much or whatever the case might be.

I bought my dress at David's Bridal and no, they will not alter it if you buy if off of Ebay or Craigslist. The woman I spoke to said they only do alterations for the person who bought the dress. However, if you can get the original reciept, that may help. Play it off as if you were the original buyer.Just a little FYI though: they will only do alterations for a certain amount of time. So be weary of that also.Best of luck and congratulations on the upcoming wedding!

NO! my sister bought her dress at DB in 06 and their policy is once it leaves the store, they will not work on it. they track gown purchases from their stores, and will not be responsible for anything once it goes through the front door. sorry. you will need to find a local seamstress to work on it for you.SA- well it must vary somehow, because they told my sister once it was out the door, they would not take it to work on. or did we just get stuck with bad salespeople?

BLM-- You are incorrect.I currently work for David's and policy is that if you have the reciept from original purchase and the dress HAS NOT ALREADY BEEN ALTERED (by us or by anyone else) we will take it in for alterations at an additional charge. They will be able to tell if it has been altered and it may be difficult to get the original reciept.Hope that helps!

I don't think DB would turn away your business, but they totally overcharge for alterations. You would be better off hiring a seamstress and staying away from bridal shops.
