I'd like to create a wedding invitation thats folded three times, but unlike the typical tri-fold designs we're finding at stores. For example, the invitation text would appear in the center "pane", and it would be enclosed by the left and right flaps (so it doesn't fold out like a typical tri-fold). Does anyone know where I can buy this online? We've tried a few local paper stores but no luck. Thanks!

If it doesn't fold out like a typical tri-fold, how does it fold out. Isn't the text usually in the center "pane"? I've seen two styles, one where the left and right ends overlap and fold towards each other and the other one that is folded like you would a fan except it's only three sections. Is one of these what you're talking about?

There is a company online that has different cardstock available in several types of folds. I used a pocket fold for my invitations. Here is an example: http://www.envelopments.com/gallery/index.php?sample=06S10_lrgEnvelopments lists online companies that you can get these invitations and here they are:http://www.envelopments.com/featured-resellers.phpGood luck!

I think what you are describing sounds like an "accordian" or "z fold" where the paper kind of folds in on itself instead of a "Gate Fold" where the edges of the paper bend inwards to cover the wording. Here are some examplesZ Foldhttp://www.now-and-forever.com/We_ViewEns.cfm?sItemCode=WedEns4080&sCatalogCode=WedEnsNF&iStartRow=10&lCriteria=581&strcontinue=yes&strsearch=yes&format=WedEnsNFaGate Foldhttp://www.now-and-forever.com/We_ViewEns.cfm?sItemCode=WedEns4080&sCatalogCode=WedEnsNF&iStartRow=10&lCriteria=581&strcontinue=yes&strsearch=yes&format=WedEnsNFaMost stores like Office MAx and Staples wont carry invitation kits like this, you will probably have to find them online. But if you know the correct name then you will have an easier time searching for them.Good luck!

i have seen those in catalogs and my friend wanted to do it until she found out you had to pay separate for the ribbon and then put it together yourself..apparently the industry calls them "gatefold" as opposed to trifold b/c of the way they open.. google "gatefold wedding invites" and you get tons of hits..best of luck!
