I got married this year to my Turkish Husband in Turkey, however there was a lot of my friends and family that could not make it. So we would like to have wedding party over here with those that could not make it.I don't really just want a party i would like to wear my dress again and have our ring blessed with a non religious blessing as we are both different religions. Anyone have any ideas?

It is sort of religious, but at wedding some people practice hand-fasting.It's when the two people are married and you tie their wrists together and they cannot seperate for the entire day.I don't know, people in Wicca and Paganism DO practice it, but many outside of it do too. Honestly, I think it's romantic and good practice. I hope this helps.

What do you mean, bless your rings in a nonreligious way? I am serious and not trying to be mean. Who would the blessing be from? I don't understand but I want too.

Have a ring ceremony, mormons do it all the time, they go to the temple and since some of their family members are not mormons and cannot get into the temple, they have another ceremony outside of the temple, called a ring ceremony so the members that did nto witness the temple marriage cans ee the wedding. You might have twi differant pastors who are of each others religion, that might satify families on both sides.

Erm....Whom, exactly, do you want to have "bless" your rings????Because, as far as I know, "blessing" someone or something can only be done by a deity...And that would involve a religion.

Woah. Mike B was a little ... harsh ... in his answer, but I agree with him to a point. I can understand wanting a ceremony without religious trappings and the like, but it seems you want a ceremony bereft of God, yet wish to curry His favor. I would consider that a major contradiction.

I had a humanist wedding service and you might get some ideas for your own from those shared at the site linked below. What is really nice is that you can use them as a base to be creative and come up with something that is specific to your relationship or feelings from there if you wish as well. Best wishes to you both.
