Personally, I think you are WAY over the top with the cocktail "snacks." The stuff you're serving during your appetizer hour would be more than filling for most people, so you'd be wasting your money on the VERY fine dinner you'd then be serving.Hors d'oeuvres are just supposed to be a little "tide-me-over" snack till the main meal can be served. Don't over do!EDIT: By your defensive posture (your add-ons) it seems that you're going to do whatever it is you want, and so our opinions mean SQUAT. Go ahead...waste your money...but PLEASE don't go around pissing & moaning about the money spent and the food wasted. We TRIED to warn you......

well if there area vegetarians coming, you cant really feed them anything substantial with the menu you have. especially if they dont eat fish also.

Mmmmm... that sounds so good! I'm hungry now! I actually don't agree with the one above. People eat the most during Coctail Hour. It's when they're most hungry! This menu was a lot like my wedding and people were very happy with it. The food sounds great! Best to you!P.S. You can ask the kitchen to be prepared for a few vegetarians... ours got a penne dish for dinner and liked it. |

pop the lobster in with the appetizers. If your budget is unlimited, keep the menu you have. If you do have limitations, you could cut the appetizer menu in half and still have more than enough. Yum!

Sounds good, but I think 7:45 - 9:00 is too long a wait between courses. I would move it up a bit and reduce the appetizers. Have dinner served no later than 8:30.

I agree with Brutally Honest. I went to a very nice wedding last year and they only had 2 appetizers. People will fill up on all of that before dinner. I would cut that list by half at least. Everything sounds yummy though....how can I get an invite? I wouldn't do lobster either. You have a good variety as is. |

WOW! a whole lot of food. Too much for my taste and in trying to keep my girlish figure! lolBut what happens between 7:45 - 9 pm? Isn't that a bit late for dinner? That would mean dinner isn't over until 10 ish and then the party begins with cakes etc?To be brutally honest, I wouldn't last that long. I'd be leaving after the gazillion appetizers.BUT..... to each his own!! best wishes........................

Honestly? Too many cocktails/appetizers. Dinner is okay. Don't add lobster, there's a lot of heavy food already there. Are children allowed to attend? You may want to think of them, what will the kids be offered? Good luck!

I think that you should cut the appetizers by at least half. Your guest are going to have rice and pasta. They won't stand a chance when if comes to cake. Even less if they eat too many appetizers. Don't forget the people with seafood allergies. Make sure that their plates are wrapped and away from the mains. You may even have to tell them in advance. Some people can't be in the room.I'd go with a spring mix salad with green string beans, julienne carrots, blackberries, and parisienne potatoes. Maybe even have a surf and turf so that you can have the lobster. And forget about the mixed fruit salad and opted for a sorbet. By the way: congrats, and all the best.

I agree with most posters on here that say you have WAY too many appetizers! Your guests will be floating into the reception and most likely be too full to dance and even EAT their DINNER! You could be saving a good two thousand dollars on appetizers if you cut the list down in half. What time is your reception lasting until? With that particular menu, we'd be ready to leave by 10pm. Eating a lot of food definitely makes people tired and lazy!!

Sounds delicious to me but there will be alot of food (and money) going to waste. Since you're serving a full dinner, you can cut back the cocktail hour appetizers to 3 choices since they are filling by themselves and you don't want guests so full that they don't have room for anything else. Be sure that no one has seafood allergies since many of your items are seafood. Also, even if they aren't allergic, not everyone likes the taste, texture or smell.Your reasoning for the gap may make sense to you but your guests will confused and some may even leave early, thinking that the cocktail hour is all you are feeding them. If anything, it will more than likely backfire on you. I personally think 9pm is incredibly late for dinner and I never eat that late on a regular basis so I would find it odd at a wedding, especially with a gap like you're planning.

awesome ....and....who s paying for all the food u ll throw out???remove some items from the appetizers....for example u have coconut shrimp/shrimp kabob and seafood cornets!!! u keep one!!!potato pancakes and cheese quesadillas???very filling n no bo dy will eat main course!!take them out!!!penne a la vodka n pealla valenciana....u keep one!don t put sooo many things out there especially "heavy" and filling food!! your main menu sounds delicious and is a pity to be thrown out because everybody will be stuffed from the same appetizers that they can eat in e v e r y wedding!!!they d rather call u "light" on the appetizers and credit you when that amazing main course and the venetian table make their taste buns kick from happiness rather than the opposite...as about the lobster very good idea....i would suggest to remove salmon from the main menu cause the minute u say "wedding menu" the first thing that comes in mind is what???salmon! right! improvise!!! innovate!! lobster sounds great!! u have three great options!! seafood /whitemeat /redmeat!! wishing u the best!!!!!
