My fiance and I are planning on getting married in Cancun in May 2009. I am looking for a place for up to 30 guests for a ceremony on the beach and small dinner/cocktail reception. Any suggestions? We want to spend as little as possible! We are going to Cancun because we have a timeshare at the Royal Mayan. I was just wondering if there was anywhere besides our resort

Check out the "Royal" resorts... The Royal Islander or The Royal Sands etc... There are a few to choose from. The Islander is more intimate and relaxed. The Sands is more commercial tropical fun etc... It depends on what you are looking for. Great service. Saw a wedding there the last time I was there, and they have nice function rooms.Another plus? They don't allow "Spring Breakers" at any of the Royal Resorts... So you don't have to worry about your wedding being spoiled by a room full of rowdy 18 year olds who are able to legally drink for the first time haha!

If money is a factor why go to a foregin country to start with> No one stops to think >>See America first. We have just as many beautiful things right here in the United States that most have never seen before. You heard of South Padre Island along the coast of Texas? Very pretty white sandy beaches (miles long), cheaper then going to Cancun.

A great place for weddings is Dreams Resort located on the Norther tip of CancĂșn. They have a beautiful gazebo that overlooks the Caribbean and makes for an amazing wedding photo with the blue water. It's really gorgeous. They offer wedding packages. It's a nice relaxing resort and it's surrounded by the Caribbean on three sides. They also have a neat little lighthouse that a lot of people take wedding pictures by. It's a very nice setting for a wedding. Check it out and see if you like it and it's in your price range. I left a few links for you to check out. Good Luck in your decision and Congratulations.
