Disposable cameras on all the tables for the guests to use...then you get them back & process them....I suppose its not that cheap but it may be cheaper than buying other little gifts for the guests that will get no use...

We did our wedding in Hawaiian decorations, which were both Gorgeous and inexpensive... Great place to purchase all types of wedding things inexpensively is :http://www.orientaltrading.com/application?namespace=mainThey have most everything you need from decorations, to serving pieces, silk flowers, etc.We also rented a 5 bedroom pool home to host our reception in, and got married out by the pool. The cost for the whole weekend was under 400 dollars, and some of the guests had free rooms to stay in for that time if coming from out of town.We did most of the food ourselves, which also saved a Ton of money.Best Wishes.

I heard a great idea from someone once for decorations - make sure your wedding is using at least one of the traditional christmas colours (red, green, silver, gold...which yours is!) and then buy up on leftover chrsitmas decorations in january!!!You'll get them really, really cheaply (usually 50% off, or cheaper) and you'll be able to get all sorts of gorgeous things, like fairy lights, candles and little dishes to put them on, even cheap plates/napkins/cutlery/tablecloths etc.Good luck! I'm planning a cheap wedding too I actually used to work as a weddings waitress at a beautiful old winery, so I got lots of great tips from working there!!xx |

We wed outdoors as well. We had those tiny little white twinkle lights, like Christmas lights strung in the trees and bushes. White and silver glittery thin ribbons streaming down from branches and such. I went and got some of those fold out, accordion style wedding bells, sounds cheesy, but they were cute. Another good idea is to release butterflies together after your married, you can order them on-line, or find a party store or party planner, they would know where to get them, it's beautiful, a friend of mine did that and it was awesome, hundreds of butterflies flying off. Hope I helped.

i work as a wedding captain, im in charge of the wait staff, so i know a whole lot about this, i can give you tips to save a lot of money on your weddingless expensive weddings are on friday night or saturday afternoon (out of the whole friday night-saturday afternoon/night- sunday afternoon/night weekend) less expensive weddings have less food during cocktail hour, and this is alright because there is no need to have a whole 10 hot food and 20 cold food display since people are more concerned with drinking and socializing during this time and you have main dining room food after anywayless expensive weddings have a buffet for main dining room instead of main course being individually served, and this has some advantages because some people like this more anyway ... because of the variety and you can come back for seconds if you want... you have more choices and opportunity with the buffet style dining roomyou can save a lot of money by having just cake as the dessert rather than something else AND cake, and most people are full after the main course anyway, so the cake and coffee would be just fineyou can also save a lot of money by getting decorations/cake/DJ thru the actual catering hall, this is called a "house DJ" or "house florist" instead of outside companies, and the payment of these would be included in the per-person charges

Just today, I went to the local "Dollar Tree" where everything's a dollar! I bought several packs of tulle, for candy favors. Each pack had 15 round tulles. I think that was a great bargain. They also had mini white rose bouqets for $1. Those would be so cute for the bridesmaids. They had initial monogrammed stickers for candles, & such. They had wedding ribbon for decoration. They had white satin ring bearer pillows. They had a set of 6 mini picture frames, you could put an engagement pic of the two of you in it for great favors. They had strands of white flowers, could be strung up. They had wedding cookies, in the food isle. They had beautiful candles & candle holders. ETC, ETC, ETC.I am telling you, it's worth a trip. Sometimes they have the 6 or 8 pack of wedding bubbles - only $1.00!!! You have to make a trip. Now, about www.orientaltradingcompany.com. They do have some great bargains, I did order things from there but I don't like that they shipped my 1 order with alot of items separate, and I got charged $8.95 each time because my order was under $75. So, be careful with that. Just use your imagination, most people would never believe the wedding items I have found there. Good LUck!!!

Where and How to Start?
There’s so much to do, it can be mind-numbing. Don’t worry. I planned and held my first wedding in two months and my second wedding in three months. If you have the luxury of a year or more, feel lucky!
Wedding Invitation
Ideally, invitations should be mailed out 6-8 weeks before the big day to give guests time to make arrangements to attend and RSVP back to you.
Wedding Attire
Where I come from, buying a tuxedo is virtually unheard of. Renting is probably the way to go to realize the ultimate savings on the groom’s attire.
Wedding Flowers
Cheap doesn't mean that your wedding flowers can't be beautiful. All flowers are lovely no matter what they cost.
Wedding Ceremony Decoration
Most wedding ceremonies are short and sweet, so why spend a majority...
Wedding Music
Music for your wedding ceremony could consist of live or recorded performances.
Wedding Photography
Pictures are priceless, and you want to be sure you have plenty of good pictures of your special day.
Wedding Favors
Some brides don’t like the idea of giving gifts to her guests, but we think it’s a nice gesture as a thank you...
Wedding Food
Wedding food can take a huge chunk out of your wedding budget.
Wedding Cake
Your wedding cake is the centerpiece of the reception. It is a scrumptious dessert as well as part of a tradition
Wedding Party
The question of whether or not to serve alcohol at your wedding is one that can cause dissension in the ranks of family.
