I know this isn*t how most people go about things, but me and my boyfriend mutual decided we are getting married with our tax rebate. So, if you decided to get married like this, would only wedding bands be appropriate? I would also like to know, if you just get it done at the court, and have your own party at home (which is what we plan to do) and not a big ceremony, what exactly happens at the court? We live in PA if that is relevant. thank you.

at court you might just sign a paper or you might have some vows. you can work it out with the JP. We had two huge weddings and chose bands instead of fancy schmancy diamonds and stuff because the diamond industry is bathed in the blood of poor people and the rape mutilation of millions of young girls and women. It is a disgusting industry. It is your wedding, though. Do what makes you happy.Congratulatoins!

With the way the economy is today, I think it's responsible to keep your wedding within your means. Nothing derails a new marriage like money issues.

I've been to a court wedding before and they did exchange vows and needed two witnesses. All up it only took about 10-15 minutes. As for the rings, this is totally whatever you prefer. You can pick up a small diamond ring for not a lot of money or you could try a pawn shop and pick one up for a bargain. There's not one that's more appropriate then the other, choose what you like. Have a great day!!
