I think it's so special when couples use things from their heritage or nationality, even different languages, on their special day!

My late grandfather brought home a white piece of silk off of a german parachute from WW2. My grandmother made it into a beautiful hankerchief with lace trim. All of their daughters and granddaughters have carried tucked into their bouquet.

coming from a hispanic backround. I would have to say having a guitar trio there playing old romantic spanish music from the early 1900s. Thats a tradition we have in my family. Some other mexican families like having Mariachi music, but too me that is too much mexican flavor.

I'm Native American so when my husband and I got married we burned sage and blessed every one who was at the wedding. We are both Mexican as well so we had the lasso that went around us that signified the binding of ourselves to one another.

My fiance is 1/2 Japanese...I'm 110% white girl! His Mom is full Japanese and we will be having a few of his family members from Japan out for the wedding as well as some Japanese family friends. I am going to (secretly) learn Japanese so that I can thank them for coming all the way out here to celebrate with us and tell them that I cannot wait to be a part of their family! It's not exactly a tradition but it's pretty darn ethnic.

We had a billingual mass in Spanish & English including the blessing of the coins, lasso, etc. My husband loves my Mexican backround so we did the traditonal tacos, rice and beans for our dinner. Churros for dessert of course. The hall was decorated in very festive bright colors. It made for a great reception!
