I am new to this forum.

I have been looking at starting up a wedding photography business for the past few years and have finally got the bit between my teeth. I have been a keen photographer for over 20 years and had a part time business in the 90's doing wedding videos. Now with the improved technology (digital) I am looking forward to photography. I have a good base understanding of the "wedding formats" but will need some help with lots of bits. My intention is to do it part time and when and if it's successful make is a full time commitment.

Ian

Hi Karen

I have looked at your website and I am very impressed!

As you can imagine I am right at the start of the process and I am currently working on a Business Plan and Marketing etc. However one MAJOR problem I see is getting a portfolio together. I am going on a couple of courses in September, and one allows you to shadow them at a wedding. However they will be his/her shots, ie he will get them to pose etc. I know that the best shots may not be posed etc etc, but how do I get started? I was going to advertise FOC wedding photo's but then that may not be a good idea. Portraits, Pets, Lanscapes etc you can all get but WEDDINGS?????????????

Help

Thanks

Ian
