They aren't that different. Both are white on white. Both are straight stacked teirs. Do your shape with his swag design and accent with your crystals. You guys are much closer in tastes then you made it sound.

they look like the same basic style only his is icing and yours in fondant.. go taste test.. personally I think fondant tastes nasty and would rather have something that tastes good than something that looks slightly nicer..but my man was just here reading over my shoulder and he said that the wedding cake is your choice and he can get what he wants in the groom's cake..

They're not really all that different- I am sure you can find something in the middle that appeals to you both- keep looking!Funny, never heard of a groom with an opinion about cake, outside of flavor!

(I like yours better!)My fiance hasn't done crap as far as the legwork, so his vote gets over-ruled. A cake is a cake, if you can't find one you both like, have a groom's cake or completely nix the cake idea and go with cookies, or a desert selection.

Pick the cake that best matches the style of the wedding dress/bridesmaid dresses/floral arrangements..a fancy formal cake will look silly if the wedding is not a big fancy formal/traditional kind.....and quite frankly it's not a house, once it's eaten it's gone, reguardless of what style.

Ask what it is he does not like about yours. It looks like your is fondant and his is icing so maybe he just don't like fondant. Or just keep looking until you can get one you both like. You could always design one yalls self

There is only one obvious answer here - you need two cakes. I would do the second cake, the one with the fondant in a different color than white and call it a groom's cake.

your cake is more modern use your cake and place some streamers on your cake to connect to look like the swagsin the picture, but have freinds and family or ppl on line vote and whoever gets the most votes gets their cake made. His cake choice is sooo yesterday,

Have two smaller cakes - one of each. Or you can try to pick out a third that looks nothing like either cake.

for the official cake i prefer his, however, yours really is fun and very cute and it may work well with my idea. this sounds a little wild perhaps, but hear me out and think about it before you say 'god that ozziegal is an idiot'. ok, how many guests tables are there going to be? i would suggest you see what the baker would charge to make you small versions of one of the cakes and put one in the center of each of your guests tables. it may be a bit expensive but it would give you a very unique centerpiece for every table, and you wouldn't need any other centerpieces so that would save you the cost of centerpieces, and it would give every table a beautiful dessert so you could factor the cost of the cakes into your dessert budget! i think you would find it wouldn't cost you much more than centerpieces and desserts would cost you and you could have the baker make the cake whatever kind of cake you wanted - lemon, chocolate, whatever. he could do even do two or three flavors if you wanted. the point is you could both have your favourite cakes - just have one for your wedding cake and the other for your tables.however you choose to compromise, i wish you the perfect wedding day and a wonderful marriage.

You could get your main cake (the one you like) and get a grooms cake. The grooms cake reflects his styles and like. I had the tier cake and he likes to golf so i had a grooms cake the shape of golf clubs and bag.
