| When I went to college several years ago I made a really good friend! We were, well, college best friends. I had never known her before but we did everything together. Then I had to leave to help my parents back at home- they were having some medical and personal issues and needed help with the siblings and running stuff. So, I tried to keep in contact with her- we were calling and e-mailing, then after a while I didn't talk to her for a long time, she called me to invite me to her wedding as her personal attendent about a year later... I went and after that I just never called her. I was there for her wedding day, got the thank you but we just never have called since. I still have her number and I know it is active and the same. It's been almost 2 years and I don't even live near her. I just wanted to catch up, would it be too awkward to just call? Or just leave it and not waste her day and that general banter? |

| I don't think that would be weird at all. If you guys were as good of friends as you say you were then I'm sure she would be more than happy to hear from you. |

| I would call her! I like it when people from my past look me up. It is fun to catch up. Just don't have too high of expectations. It never is the same as it was, but sometimes it is fun just to talk to an old friend. I doubt it will hurt anything. Unless you had some big fight or something which it doesn't sound like you did, then she would probably think it was nice to hear from you. |

| If she's really your best friend, then i don't think it's weird to call just to keep in touch eventhough you have not contacted her. Maybe call her and hang out or something for starters just to catch up with each other. |

| I think it can't hurt to call her and say, hey- how's it been going! Maybe she will want to talk- and maybe she won't. You will get the idea in her tone. Time changes people a little bit but it sounds like you were pretty good friends then. It is hard to keep track of college friends because they weren't "home town" friends, but maybe call her and also ask if she has an e-mail or something, then you two can work a little easier into the friends again pattern. You never knows, maybe you are feeling compelled to call her because she needs a friend right now... I say do it. |
