I am in college so I am working on a budget. I want the gifts to be something small and thoughtful. His family includes his dad, mom and older brother. His brother's gf is also going to be there this year. Am I supposed to get her something? I've met her once when I was visiting them in NY (with my bf) and spent a night in the studio she shares with his brother. For his brother, I have no idea what to get him. My bf tells me that he's picky and doesn't like things that take up space so to be wary of getting him an object unless I know for sure he wants it. Is it weird to maybe get them a personalized couples ornament? I plan on getting a $15 gift certificate to a nail salon for his mom because she likes pedicures. I don't know what to get his dad. He likes sailing, biking and photography but I have a feeling he has everything he needs for those hobbies. Thanks for the help!

A gift basket of cheese and sausage or a tin of cookies might be easier and not as expensive. I am not sure how much $15 can buy in a NY nail salon.

You could probably get the dad a book of photographs. Check the clearance table at your local bookstore. The gift for the mom sound's nice. You should buy the girlfriend something since she's their. A good gift would be a $15 gift certificate (or whatever amount it costs for 2 tickets) to the movies for the two of them. This is a cheap gift they can enjoy as a couple.

Hey I don't think that you have to get anything for her. I wouldn't. To me if you did it would seem like your trying to hard. I would stick with the ornament idea...maybe even make it yourself. You can never go wrong with a Christmas ornament! As for his dad I just asked my boyfriend what kind of stuff his dad is into and went from there. If he likes outdoorsy stuff then maybe some type of cooler. They have some really neat new stuff online like self cooling wine carriers and small travel totes for labtops and stuff. Good luck and Merry Christmas!

A gift card to a restaurant for the brother and his girlfriend. Your boyfriend might know what places his brother likes to eat at.For the dad, he may still use film cameras, so get him a few rolls of film or a gift card to a photography shop.

If you want your parents to appreciate the time and effort you put into their Gift and If you are a little patient, I read that Google is launching its BETA version of "Gift A Website.com" in the a few days...!?This Website is supposed to be offering the possibility for non-computer knowledgeable users (or dummies like me) to create and Gift a Real Website in 3 simple steps and with a real DomainName.com, for your loved ones, friends and/or relatives. If I recall well, the categories available at Launching time will be the followings:1. Christmas2. Birthday3. Valentines' Day4. Mothers' Day5. Father's Day6. Wedding7. Business8. Newborn9. In Memory Of10. Special Someone11. Grand Parents12. Others..With also a Customizable category available...Personally I like the price: They will offer yearly subscription plans (1 year; 3 years; 5 ;10) Starting at $49.95 for 1 year! With a Lifetime subscription at $999.95!! That's what I want to Gift my brother for Christmas, a business Website for his newly created Business of Maintenance & Repairs in Gym equipments!! I think it will be a terrific tool!!Besides, the "Manage Account" area is supposed to be the easiest thing to manage on Earth (That is what the article was saying!), It also mentioned that the Control Panel includes: Blog Space, Resume, Pictures, Videos, Voice messages, RSS feed, Etc.)Classy looking Website for dummies to create and to Gift for 1 year or more (with a Lifetime available offer!) was the article…The ice on the cake is this: When I am ready to Gift the site to my brother, I will be able to simply send a Gift-email as well as Print a Gift-Card from the control Panel. When Jim will type in his own personal DomaiName.com into the address bar of his Internet window, He will have his new Website covered with a classy Wrap Up paper + Ribbon + Bow!!! With an “Open your Gift!” message on that page…cool no!?Anyway, check it out in a couple of days….www.giftawebsite.comMerry Christmas!
