| I have a canon sd1000 and it cannot connect with my computer. i installed the software it came with and it still doesn't work. every time i connect it, the new hardware found window appears and i click cancel. then my camera screen will go black. help me please : )The camera is on playback mode and when i connect the camera to the computer all the buttons do not work.The camera is on playback mode and when i connect the camera to the computer all the buttons do not work. i let the computer read it but it still doesn't work. |

| The "playback" mode may be what is holding you out.Re-read the instruction manual and follow the directions exactly ... or buy a card reader and save the frustration.With a card reader ($15), all you have to do is use your computer skills and copy the image files from the card to your computer. |

| The reason your camera scren goes black is because the camera is attempting to send the data to the computer, not the screen. Try letting it continue. |
