Having wedding at japanese garden and dinner afterwards at japanese restaurant. What ideas do you have for decorations that have an asian feel. My wedding colors will be mostly brown and green (a fall version... not lime or bright green) with pink accents here and there. Also, any good websites to look at or shop on

Paper lanterns would be really cute and are fairly cheap. Try Oriental Trading Company.

I love those big white paper globes that people hang up. They are very asian, very sophisticated, and very romantic. I think they are pretty inexpensive too.

What if you put the favors or candy in small carryout boxes - you know the kind, with the wire handle. (first link below)placecard holders with chinese (or other asian language) character for love or double happiness (link 2 below)Don't know how much you can decorate the restaurant - or how much it NEEDS to be decorated, but paper lanterns, fans, etc come in all sorts of colors.Centerpieces if you want to skip flowers, you could put a small sand garden (link 3 below) in the center of each table. Would be something for people to play with at the table too, and you could have some sort of contest (or sticker under the placecard holder etc) to say who takes it homehave fun!

I hear you! I am Korean, my husband is white. For our fall wedding, we wanted a wedding that had a slightly asian flair but not over the top. I had SUCH a hard time at first because all the typical wedding sites that have favors, decorations, etc had only over the top type of asian things - the bright red and black type. That's not our style plus our color was chocolate. If you email me & give me your email address, I'll be happy to email you pics of our wedding so you can see examples. We picked out gorgeous Chiyogami paper that had small pink flowers with brown accents. We used the paper to accent our invitations and programs. It was beautiful! Here is a site that has this kind of decorative paper:http://www.paperstudio.com/catalog2.php?maincat=%20Decorative%20PaperYou can also just do a yahoo search for Chiyogami paper. We lucked out on the florist we chose. She was not only a great florist but was into doing arts & crafts to compliment her stuff. She went to fabric stores and let me choose 2 fabrics that had asian feels then she sewed table runners for every table (for the reception) and throw pillows for the benches that were under the arbor where we were getting married. It was a gorgeous and personalized compliment. The centerpieces for the reception tables was a rectangular clear glass vase with river rock in them and lilies tied with matching ribbon (that went with our colors). There was a gorgeous arbor in the gardens where we got married. She tied beautiful red paper lanterns and strung tiny white lights under there - we had a 5:30pm wedding. We had a tent at our reception and under there, we strung white paper lanterns. Everything turned out beautifully!!!! For our wedding favors, we chose these tiny chinese take out boxes (frosted color). We took that same decorative paper and used it to wrap around the box and then used personalized stickers to hold it together. Inside the boxes, we had personalized fortune cookies that said things like "thank you for coming" and such. Everything was gorgeous - an asian feel without the tacky red and black colors. Here are some other links:http://www.hometownevolutioninc.com/?OVRAW=asian%20paper&OVKEY=asian%20paper%20lamp&OVMTC=advanced&OVADID=7665147521&OVKWID=87698723521http://www.beau-coup.com/asian-wedding-favors.htmI ordered the personalized stickers from Beau Coup - they were gorgeous. Here's the link for that:http://www.beau-coup.com/personalized-designer-labels.htmI chose the cherry blossom design. Here's a link for personalized fortune cookies:http://www.goodfortunecookies.com/Hope this helps!!

Some good answers here. I like your color choice. I forgot to say in your other question, that paper-source.com has a great selection of Japanese paper. I buy the exact same patterns in Japan, so that stuff is the real deal.Believe it or not Martha Stewart has a lot of ideas for decorations with an Asian flair. I like the lanterns idea that another poster mentioned. You could hang a simple ribbon from each in one of your wedding colors.
