| Getting married is one of the most traditional things you can do, and you want to get "different... innovative" ?? It makes people nervous to receive an "innovative" invitation. Express your innovation some other way. |

| This is not the place to be innovative. People need to know when and where your wedding is. |

Nothing will be TOO out of the ordinary unless you make up the wording yourselves (which sounds kinf of fun actually...) but here are a couple possibilities. They aren't exactly innovative but they are considered "non-traditional." If these don't work for you, maybe you can work off the style to help you come up with your own unique wording:http://weddings.about.com/od/weddinginvitations/a/invitationwordi.htmAnother website had this: On this day we will begin our journey ofmarriage and would be delighted if you couldjoin us at the wedding ceremony ofJulia Jennifer Smithto the love of her lifeJoseph Alan Brownetc.(this throws out the term "request the honor of your presence" which is very traditional and these words seem like something you could easily play with and its sweet with the "love of her life" part and thats different. This website has some "contemprary" options if you scroll down and click on whichever is right for you (depending on who is hosting the wedding):http://www.weddingchannel.com/ui/buildArticle.action?assetPath=/templates/Invitations/iv3invitations.vmThis is my favorite website and I think you will like it. It has LOTS of really great examples!:http://offbeatbride.com/2007/12/wedding-invitation-wording-that-wont-make-you-barf#referrerAnyway, I hope I've helped! Good luck and congrats! |
