Umm, babies have a tendency to not come on their due dates. If she's a week late you'll probably still be in the hospital. If this is your first baby, things are still probably going to be pretty hectic and you may not even feel up to leaving the house yet. Even if the baby does come on time, 9 days old is really young to be bringing into a large crowd of people, that's going to be an awful lot for the baby to deal with and you would probably feel bad if she cried the whole time.

I would take the child out until he or she was at least two weeks of age. But if you feel okay doing so that is your decision. If so I would have someone maybe ma or ma-in-law to attend & watch the baby during the cermony. Wise decision on not attending the reception everyone would want to hold the child though. More people more germs. Germs & newborns don't mix. Babies sleep all the time at that age, so the child will probably be quite. Still I don't believe it's the best idea. Someone in the family will be glad to watch the baby till you return. don't back on the wedding though. Think of how that would effect them.
