Im curious about some opinions on this idea. Getting married in a cream colored dress with and emerald sash(big, poofy, down to the floor) on st. patricks day. In a castle in either new york, north carolina, california, or washington. all of the places that are listed above have some pretty scenery.Hiring a photographer. Having your significant other, and children dress up in formal attire. The chapel is lit with literally hundreds of candles, and you get married at sunset. Followed by a formal dinner, dancing, just you, your significant other, and your children. Fantasy, To OTT or Doable?

If that's what you want, it's doable, and whether it is OTT it's only your opinion that counts. There are a couple of Castles in Wash. Add to your question if you'd like me to send you info on them. You didn't reply, but here is the info anyway, getting an idea of pricing might help you decide if this is the way you want to go:http://www.manresacastle.com/http://www.thornewoodcastle.com/They're fun to look at if nothing else.

If you've got the money then it's doable...for me it would be OTT...but it would be a fantasy for me if I COULD do

Of course it's doable if your pocket dictates it. That sounds like a very lovely, memorable scene. Also consider whether your guests can travel to these locations.

I think everything about it sounds very romantic (especially the candles), but for me the very formal attire part is a little much unless you're having a large formal wedding. It seems doable because you will be able to have the very nice venue and extras, but on a much more affordable scale since you dont have a bunch of guests to pay for.

Sounds lovely . . . but how old are these children???1. If they are adults, great. Go for it. 2. If they are toddlers, forget it. The formal dinner is out. If you want romance and candles and formal dinners, consider eloping just the two of you. Romance and candles and formal dinners are going to be extremely difficult if you have toddlers around.
